Ultra Rare 12" Mixes 2

So, I went over to my friendly Minneapolis record shop and found something interesting: Ultra Rare 12" Mixes 2 [yellow jacket, two disc vinyl]. I saw the tracklisting and didn't think that it was too "ultra rare" but decided to pick it up anyway. Thought it might be an interesting collectors item.

Tracklisting:
Side One: Kiss, Le Grind
Side Two: I Wanna Be Your Lover, Housequake
Side Three: Anotherloverholenyohead, Dirty Mind
Side Four: Hello, Glam Slam

And then I went home and popped it onto my turntable. "Kiss" was the regular extended version [no shock there] and then "Le Grind" came on. I was expecting simply the album version but was surprised to find it changed. It was simply the song with repeated phrases and lines, nothing earth shattering, but something I had never heard before. I then turned it over and the same was true for "I Wanna Be Your Lover." "Housequake" was the regular extended version. "Dirty Mind" is treated like "Le Grind" and "I Wanna Be Your Lover."

So, I'm wondering, was there an extended version of "Le Grind" [and the others] or did the makers of this set simply do some splicing? I have a feeling it's the latter, but I'm wondering if someone might be able to shine some light on this set. Anyone have any info?

I've never heard of a 12" "Le Grind". There's a release which has all the 12" and extended versions and I don't think it's on there, although I don't have it in front of me.

I'm pretty sure the unheard of versions you've mentioned will be unofficial fan / DJ mixes.

It's just the makers of this bootleg creating their own 'extended versions'.

'T's 12inch archive' has all the 12inches and b's extended upto around 'Batman' and '57inches' carries on from there. Get those and you're pretty much sorted.

Kinda why i wasn't bothered about 'Ultimate Prince' getting canned/delayed. Plus i got nearly all his 80's maxis anyway on vinyl.

There are a few of those albums on the market. They are bootlegs made for DJ's, they also released albums by Kraftwerk, Daft Punk, Basement Jaxx.

There is nothin special about it, it's just easy for dj's to have all the important dance trax by an artist on one album, it's a compilation of already excisting mixes.

le Grind 12" is a lie, it's just the standard album version, but since there is no official remix of the song, they simply call it 12" version.

The only thing about is they are made for DJ's, but the albums are very lousy mastered, so it's not worth buying it.

If the quality is bad then I wouldn't be interested. Plus I'm probably have most of the stuff anyway.

Actually, it's not the album version. It was tinkered with. . .not very well, but still tinkered with. . .repeated phrases here and there. . .
