Why Do Certain Prince CDs Go Out of Print?? I am in the process of updating my Prince music collection from cassettes to CDs, and have come to find out that not of all his CDs are still available for purchase, and that they are out of print. CDs like Come, Batman Soundtrack, Gold Experience and The Black Album are no longer obtainable to the public, and this makes me sad. I wonder if it's a move by Warner Brothers or if there is some specific reason why some CDs go out of print, never to be seen again. Any thoughtful insight that anybody can give me on this subject would be greatly appreciated. And please don't say, "You snooze, you lose", because I have already figured that out on my own -- lol!! I'm pretty sure you can get them all but those two at Amazon. But I haven't checked being as i already have them. ...but all of these cd's should be REAL easy to find at a used store or ebay. The Black Album on the sleave said it was only going to be printed once so it's not unusual. When Crystal Ball was released Best Buy got in shipments of each and everyone of Prince's cd's. So I guess this is the last time that they were printed.

Wow. there's more?!? Sheesh.
Other than the Batman album, the others albums now out of print are from the turbulent WB-Prince era. So I wonder if that has something to do with it. Perhaps an attempt at getting back at Prince by not PAYING him for some albums. Makes you think. Petition time. These are essential Prince albums. The consumer has a right to hear them. They are actually the best of the 90's! Glad I got my Black Album, new and sealed, played it just a few times. Funny, the other day I was at my favorite neighborhood record store and saw they had the Gold album used but in their rarities section high priced. I thought thatt was strange and that maybe they made a mistake. But now it hits me! Darn, should have gotten them a few months back. I had gotten them initially but cassettes only because I heard them in my car. But there was no warning...and that, my friends, sucks. I bet it could be also, new WB people who don't know anything about Prince that decided to cut costs for the company and stop printing them. blamming it on internet piracy. ~*~ [This message was edited Mon Jul 22 16:04:59 PDT 2002 by FlyingCloudPassenger]

I've seen this happen before; if you're patient they will be reprinted, except perhaps for the black album, which was a limited release according to the ganda they propped in my way.[This message was edited Mon Jul 22 15:19:28 PDT 2002 by psychodelicide] Fear is the mind-killer.

I saw the 'Batman' album this week at HMV in Oxford Street, priced £4.99 each. There must have been ten copies on the rack. "You don't frighten us, English pig dogs. Go and boil your bottoms, sons of a silly person."
