There is another bootleg question from Prince on the NPGMC this morning. This one from PP9 is cryptically asking why we think the bootlegs 'ceased'.

It seems Prince's mind is on bootlegs and unreleased recordings again.

Is the vault about to be opened or is Prince just teasing us again?

Whereas I read it this way - it's a dig at Warners, if you answer the question. When did new studio boots stop materialising? When Prince severed links with Warners around '96 '97 Emancipation time. So it could simply be saying via a question that Warners were responsible for the leaks, taking it from the point of view that Prince thinks bootlegs are a bad thing.

Don't respond, it's a trick. They want people to discuss boots and bootleggers but will never release anything. This has been going on for year. I don't think one of P's croonies have anything to do with this information and is just baiting people to see what they will say. Will never amount to anything.

I think they were "ceased" because

A) He cleaned house of the hangers on and wanna be fan/friends who took some of this material and shared it.
B) He stopped releasing them himself.
