THINKTIMM

A Prince In Harlem...

I now that most Prince fan's say they follow Hip Hop... but take a listen to this mixtape!!! It combines Prince sample that are different with the Dip Set's Cam & Santana along with others. I had the chance to download the album and I have to tell that it's not bad. I'm a Hip Hop lover and music maker buy 1st love as well as a Prince Fan and it's good to hear other Hip Hop Producers take Prince's music to the everyday use as it should be...

TAPEMASTERS Inc. & John Shotti Present:

A Prince in Harlem.Starring Cam'Ron and Prince

The newest mixtape to hit the streets that represents the fusion of various genres of music, A Prince in Harlem, is set to be released on Wednesday (April 12 th). This album, produced by John Shotti, takes slices of music from Prince's classic Purple Rain film and album and lays Dipset-leader, Killa Cam's, vocals over it. In addition, the 18-track mixtape will also offer four bonus "Prince-strumentals".

The difference with A Prince in Harlem is that each track tells a story. Cam's lyrics equally match the Prince sample it's laid over. It represents a perfect marriage between the two artists.

The mixtape features classics such as a version of Cam'Ron's "That's Me" with Prince's "Shhhhh (Break it down)," and "When Doves Cry" and "Kiss" with other Cam tracks. The mixtape also features cameos from Big Pun, Nore, Jim Jones, Juelz Santana and The Lox.

A Prince in Harlem has exclusive remixes and blends on it that cannot be found on any other mixtape, such as "Chickenhead Nikki," which is a blend of Prince's "Nikki" and Cam's "All the Chickens"; and Prince's "Pussy Control" with a chopped and screwed version of Cam's and Jadakiss' verses from "Ain't Neva Scared (Remix)" which merged together created a track titled "Hammer Control." There's also a track on the mixtape with Juelz Santana's verse from Chris Brown's "Run It" and Vanity 6's song called "Sex Shooter."

So if you ever wanted to know what Prince music would be like with that certified feel of Harlem on it, cop A Prince in Harlem.Starring Prince & Cam'Ron .

The Tapemasters/ John Shotti release is slated to hit the streets on April 12, 2006.

OMG, DO NOT GET THIS CD! Trust me, save your money. It's really one of the worst I've gotten in years. Luckily I picked it up on the streets of NY for $2.50. But even that was $2.49 too much. Poorly produced, bad choice of samples and just not good.

yep.....There was a "Purple Album" mixing Jay-Z's Black Album and Purple Rain.

I heard it the other day, and it sounds a hot mess. I'm glad I didnt buy it.
