i have it as well.the album was Hit&Miss overall to me on a whole.I think if "God Is Alive" had have made the cut then that album would have been a full knock-out IMHO.it was missing that one killer cut.

Shausler, what is it with you and other people online that spell "No one" as "Noone"?...gawd, that irks me to no end.

This is my favourite song prince every gave to someone else. I would love to hear a Prince version.

I think the guitar solo at the end is Prince's best ever too. Very subtle.

Ohh I gotta go play it.

Prince was definitely shooting for the "old school flava" on the Time Waits for No One" album. One of my favorite tracks is "Come Home". If you don't believe that track hits the old school mark, try playing it around some of the older folks like your parents and see how they respond. The title track of course is also a rare gem from an almost unimaginable Prince collaboration. Prince and Mavis? No one would've ever guessed that.

One (well... two actually) of my favoirte songs Prince gave to someone else is "I Hear Your voice" sung by Patti LaBelle - I think that song is a very unique type of ballad and Patti sings the heck out of it. The other song would be "Open Book" sung by Jeveeta Steele - it's very emotional, the lyrics really grip you in sort of the same way that "Nothing Compares 2 U" does.

I love that song! Come Home! "Baby won't you please come home...I donwanna be alone...hey hey, hey heeey yeah!"

It was written by Prince around the Dream Factory era I remember reading somewhere, most likely Uptown (the kings of Prince info!).

It's got that Revolution sound, with Eric and Atlanta playing great on it. Plus the Linn is keeping the beat. It just has this warm and sweet, mellow feel to it. I dedicated it to my girlfriend at the time.

I was wondering the other day how Mavis is so spiritual and how yet she didn't over take/control Prince's sense of spirituality or religion as Larry did. What a difference. Prince did his most spiritually powerful song with her, God Is Alive.

Oh well.

I wanted to ad Jaguar on the awesome list. It's all Sign "O" styled out! Linn, wierd synth effects, super funky chicken scratch guitar licks, too cool.

Time Waits for No One is one of my favorite albums. Great job Prince and Mavis. I met Mavis once at autograph signing after a tribute concert for Dr. MLK Jr. -- she is sooo sweet!
