I have certain albums for the summer that I listen to. They stay in my cd player until Sept. This summer I have choosen Parade. Anyone have a favorite album they play every summer?

ATWIAD, without question. After SOTT/Lovesexy Prince albums started to be released in the fall, so they lost that summer connection for me.

Parade always screams Spring to me.

Purple Rain has that summer vibe for me.

Along with Parade, The Truth has that whimsical summertime feel to it.

For summer, gotta be the second disc of Emancipation, though it is also great for spring as well

Oddly enough, Emancipation - I'll probably never warm up to anything on Disc 1, but Discs 2 & 3 make outstanding Summer discs. Something about the super slick sound, and the fact that there's nothing too "epic" on there - It's all just pleasant sounding pop, and it works for the season. Especially Disc 2!

I like any hits compilation because it's got a little of everything and I can just pop it in and do whatever.

I'll say Purple Rain. When I listen to that album, I can literally smell the
summer/fall of 1984.

time goes by, my daughter was 3 at that time and now she is the same age I was
in 84. eek
