If it was accepted across the board, in all nations, all cultures, and all religions, that Jesus was a black man...do you think blacks would be viewed and/or treated differently by other races? I am not saying that I believe that he was black, but the Bible clearly states that "his skin was the color of copper, and his hair like sheeps wool"! This is not reflected in the popular pictures of the white Jesus with straight hair and milky white complexion. I wonder why? Based solely on the desciption in the Bible, I do believe that he was a man of color. Before someone post a reply asking what difference does his color make, I will quote Louis Farrakhan (and I am not a member of the Nation of Islam or of Islamic faith),"If it was not important what color Jesus was, then why did they change it"(referring to pictures versus the description in the Bible). Anyone with any shred of common sense knows Jesus was the color of any other human in His neck of the woods. He wasn't ghetto-black as soulpower points out, but he certainly wasn't the brown haired, blue eyed mac daddy from http://www.jesus.com Jesus was/is respected & loved by sany (& hated by so many more) not because He was a bronze-skinned man or whatever, but because He was a good man. We as a people really need to learn how to start hating people on an individual basis & not basing our feelings for them on their skintone. You'll miss out on some decent people, otherwise.

There were african civilizations irish echo. There was the city of benin in west africa which produced lots of gold articacts, intricate buildings. Just visit the british museum. also the ancient egyptians were not the fair people you see in the movies. In fact the sphinx' nose was destroyed because a french general couldnt bear th fact that the nose was so "negroid"., which would of course suggest that the ancient egyptians were far more black that most people are willing to admit.
