Has anybody seen prince on the muppets tonight back in 1996 and what did u guys think when u saw prince act with a bunch of puppets???

I thought it was cute, especially the outtakes when he couldn't stop laughing. A great example of him loosening his public persona & I love that he's more accessible now...

Those puppets have more personality in their little fluffy arms than most people have in their little finger...

And indeed; the outtakez are what are funniest. AND the clip to fish And Coffee. Single, anyone?

Actually, I thought he did pretty good. Bit of over-acting going on, but this is Prince and those are muppets. I thought he was very cute, the elephant with the open-ass pants was very cool and Gonzo's new boots were rockin'!

His lip-synching was shyte, throughout, tho.

Oh yeah, and when he was miming the fellow with the arms there, during the credits, that was pretty funny. Good show!

I flew to New York in February and on the Virgin flight they had Prince on Muppets Tonight. I didn't watch any of the new film releases but watched this programme about 6 times. Excellent!!!
Is there anyone out there who recorded it or where can I get hold of a copy???
Has he been on any other programmes like this?
I finally know who Cynthia is from Starfish and Coffee but didn't realise she was blue/green!

I think every legendary rock star has that memorable moment of playfulness when he lets the persona down or deviates from it on purpose to show another side. Hendrix did this when he clowned around occasionally. The Beatles did it all the time.

It was refreshing especially to see Prince laugh and have funwith his name change and trademark characteristics like the asspants worn by one of the muppets - funny as hell. I think it will be one of those sought after things 20 years from now that no one will remember but will want

He said it with a smile in his face looking deadpan at the camera.

Wonder how many more outtakes of this are floating round.

I am sure Prince or the Muppets crew has em all tho.

I saw a clip of it on a VH1 interview.

Does Prince perform any songs? I'd love to see Animal pound the skins on "Lets Work"...

It was REALLY cute! I thought he did a good job. Of course he had to cater to the younger crowd so it might have been cheesy to some people, but I love him and I've watched the muppets since I was a child, so I was very excited to see the pairing! It was fun!

also, I shall never ever forget Prince in the C&W clothes and the absurd of the aligator joke...

I got to watch it soon!!!

i know two people that actually look like muppets. gonzo and the green one with the big mouth and bug eyes.

i can't talk to them without thinking of the muppets.

HE WAS CUTE AS HELL.

I loved the southern accent he did when he acted like a farmer, and 'Starfish&Coffee'version is betta than the original one esp the 'Ooh ohh, ooh ooh' part. But he threw an arrogant line(yet cute ) 'What?? U live in a box or sumthin??'. The outtakes were funny as hell.

And whoever said the muppets is only 4 children then you ain't RIGHT MAN. This show is waaayy to funny, adults watch it too, my sister who's 32 yrs love this show. And oh yeah my mother aka Prince' hater #1 reaction when she saw him laughin in the outtakes was funny as hell LOL she said: Oh my dear lawd, he's so tiny he's so cute I wanna carry him and give him a big KISS god bless you mommy but he sho nuff don't need that.

Where can I see this???

I particularly liked the opening scene with the large bear trying to find " O+> " on the guest list.
