He's right in some ways the production is top notch. While the music from back when was good, the production sucked. Many of his earlier albums are marred by this (not terribly so). Precisely! I don't down any Prince album. But hey, to each his own. I did say in my statement if anybody felt this way too! LOL! I just love the Chocolate Invasion because for years I haven't heard him as funky and daring. I also love the usage of multiple backround harmony! It's a hard album. Talks about race relation, "in which I am definatley intersted in". Prince couldn't help that the earlier albums were not as "spacious" as they can be now. He was just learning. I think throughout the years he has become more conscience about the fidelity of sound. We all grow folks. He has stated if he could get ahold of the earlier masters he could "redo" them in plenty of interviews. So even "he" feels this way about the earlier albums. | |
