elusive CD's

Dang!
I got to get a second job to finish my Prince collection razz .

I wasn't going to buy the Madhouse titles... since it was not a Prince official release (and there is already so much to buy). But then I heard a song from Madhouse 16, and loved it!
I have checked amazon.com $24, Gemm, $50 and up each for both MH 8, and 16. sigh

Is the $24 probably CD-r like some have said. I have been reluctant to get the Black album because I have been afraid to get a boot. I better get this one soon. (I will never own an official copy of Gold Nigga.) I don't have a turntable... so CD is the way for me.

Is $24 most likely a boot?

Come on fess up (org note me if you want to remain anonymous).
Do some of y'all have CD-r's (of the out of print and outrageously expensive resale market??) $50 is gas money for 1/2 of a month for me.

Dang!! I wish I had bought 50!!! when it was released and sitting on a k-mart shelf.

WOW! I was just looking at those on Amazon.com earlier today! I noticed one of the reviews said they were probably CDRs so I decided not to buy anything. It's too bad because I love his jazzy instrumental albums NEWS, Xpectation, and C-Note. Maybe he will re-release them in the near future.

As for Goldnigga, I was lucky enough to find an original copy on ebay for $24.00....with Guess Who's Knockin. WOO HOO!!!!

confuse

Madhouse 8 and 16 ARE official releases.

The 2 Madhouse albums, along with other early/mid-80s releases not in print are expensive, and since CDs from this time aren't that brilliant quality any way, your best bet would be to pick up a decent turntable and vinyl copies.

You shouldn't have any difficulty in finding ANY Prince release, between Amazon sellers, ebay, GEMM, netsounds, etc, etc....

Of course, if they're too expensive, why not just settle for trading with other fans? You send them a CD-R of, for example, your copy of Exodus in exchange for their copy of Madhouse? Everyone's a winner, and the only cost is a blank CD-R and postage. smile

I'm sure I've seen a few copies of the officialy released Black Album still in Record shops / Second Hand Record Shops.
I picked up an extra copy of Exodus in a second hand record shop about 2 weeks ago...I'll swap it for an official Madhouse 8, 16, Applonia 6 or Vanity 6 CD if anyone has a spare one !??
