Has anyone ever heard this album Prince produced with Kim Basinger? i can't even remember what it is called although i know it is extremely rare, and im not talking about the scandelous sex suite!

I don't think Prince had anything to do with her album.It is circulating on bootleg and is titled "Hollywood Affair".

I recall an article on her from this era,and she mentioned that she was working on an album titled 'The Color Of Sex'.Some of those song titles sound very Prince-ly.It's hard to believe that he wasn't involved in this project,especially since he was dating her around this time.Has anyone heard the album? What do the songs sound like? Is there a Prince feel to the tracks?


btw,Kim also appears on the Prince outtake "Soul Psychodelicide",also recorded in 1989.However,her "contribution" mainly consists of moaning at the beginning of the song

I think CJ was on TV once talking about how when Prince met Basinger she expressed interest in singing and he told her he'd help her and to come to Minneapolis. CJ was like "That is basicaly his line to get women". I think this was on Kim Basinger's True Hollywood Story.

Most surveys deny there was any real musical collaboration between Prince and Kim Basinger.

I suspect this has more to do with the average quality of the tracks on "The Color Of Sex" than anything else. The production smacks of sub-par Jam & Lewis mid eighties production (all rifle-shot beats and slick sounds but very little substance at the end of it all).

Fans would prefer to be assured that Prince had nothing to do with those tracks, when in fact it's quite a possibility that he might have had a hand or two in their production. The "no involvement/fake" issue just strikes me as another case of wishful thinking on their part.

However, information is scarce and saying more on the subject at this stage would be nothing more than mere speculation.

True. The circulating unreleased Kim Basinger album has nothing to do with Prince.
(It's quite obvious when you listen to it)
