don't know if this has been reported before but i just checked my
email and had an official email from universal europe with some
details about the purple ticket winner in Holland.

the mail also contains a paragraph or two about the release of the
new single "Fury", which will be released to online download stores
on may 8.

the article goes on to say that retail copies of the single will
hit the streets on may 19 (remember that date, oldies?)

the most interesting thing about the article is that is mentions
the following (rough translation from dutch):

the Fury cd single will also contain several extra's, but what
those extra's are will remain a secret for a little while longer.

ok, realistically this could mean a video for the song and perhaps
a wallpaper or something.

still, i'm crossing my fingers for the snl version or a remix or a
non album bonus track or, or or, argh

May 19 is a Friday. Maybe they're releasing it then in honor of Ingrid (it's also my mom's birthday, but I don't know if she'd appreciate Fury as a gift).

The b-side to Fury is Love, is what I heard.

ok, we've all heard Love is supposed to be the bside, and certainly it is on the promos doing the rounds on ebay.

BUT - we get this from universal, and the NPGMC/Prince send round an email questionnaire and one of the questions is 'WHAT IS YOUR FAVOURITE UNRELEASED PRINCE TRACK?' - am I putting 2 and 2 together and getting 4? or 5?

Its an interesting possibility though right? I think when they say extras, if they meant songs, surely they'd just say unreleased tracks, in which case it might just be ringtones and bollocks like that.

For some reason the new ones haven't though, personally I think there was/is a reason for that, but maybe the lack of success of the singles has prompted a rethink? Or maybe even the clamour for bsides has prompted Prince to act. Who knows? I still think every chance we get to tell the NPGMC what we think, even if its through silly questionnaires, we should take. There have been instances where they've listened, even if it takes ages.

The need to log in in because of somebody posting the Fury cover art and that picture is housed on the npg servers, hence the login.

But you're right, as far as the 3121 singles being released with non-album tracks, it hasn't happened yet.
