Well as far as it bothering me that Prince isn't popular anymore. It used to, but I've come to realize that those days are in the past and that's okay. Most of the music that Prince makes now is hard enough for the hard-core to swallow much less the general public.

I've been on this ride for a long time now and I doubt I'll be jumping off anytime soon, but I do miss the days of yesterday.

To the people who believe that he is still popular:

TRC has sold like 120,000 copies and he was unable to sell more then 500 tickets to a concert in his hometown so I'm going to go out on a limb and say that Prince isn't really "popular" with the general public anymore.

If you notice there is just not that much creative music coming out today on the radio. It's just the same old stuff. Prince will always be on top. Maybe not on top of the music charts. But always # 1 when it comes to creativity and being innovative.

Rarely, but at times I get mad that people (my age) would rather hear songs like "Khia-My Neck, My back" than TRC...

Other than that it's great that almost no1 likes prince anymore...heavily discounted posters...heavily discounted c.d.'s...

It doesn't bother me that he is not popular. But what really annoys me is that certain people do not realise how talented he is or how damn funky he is live! They just hear the recent singles and think... 'Oh no wonder no1 cares anymore he sounds crap!'

I think Prince is more popular than ever.He's not commercially popular,but his fan base is still strong.The public has no influence on me when it comes 2 them telling me who's cool

Prince made people buy The Rainbow Children with no radio
airplay and no music video.He just used his website and
commercials on T.V. I saw one on BET and that made me want
2 buy it.Not 2 many artists can do that.

Prince had his commercial popularity in the the 80s and
90s.I think he likes where he's at now in his career.I
wouldn't want him 2 be that popular anymore, because I
enjoy the fact that people think he's strange.

I know why I listen 2 Prince's music, because it speaks 2 me
and I hear what I wanna hear,good music.If others don't get
his music,oh well.All I know is I do, and mostly all of U
do too and that's cool...

Mistermaxxx is right. Some of the best music you will ever hear- will never make top 40 or top 100- for that matter.

One of the most popular hits he has made and i hate it. Not the song, or im not sure. I just hate, because if any radiostation ever plays P its certainly Cream. In discos also. Im just sooo bored with it. And he has so many better song, which could be as popular.

To me, it doesnt really matter. But i must admit that i hate ppls general opinion about the man. They seem to think, that he once was somthing, but not anymore. They dont even know he makes music anytmore. And thats simply bcause his not so popular.

HELL NO! i like it better this way. i think it's very cool to love an artist that is not # 1 to the masses, BUT IS # 1 to a group of people (like us) who are INTELLIGENT enough to appreciate GREAT MUSIC and the hell with the others. r people who like britney for instance or alicia keyes etc. that intelligent or do they aPpreciate a REALLY GREAT ARTIST AS PRINCE? besides, we ARE a different breed of music afficionos (spelled right?), and people who love blues and jazz, which takes some insight, takes some intelligence at least. lets hope he DOESNT get too popular again. i love most everything the man puts out. i feel special liking the music of prince.

Prince is 'popular' with me, that's all that matters.

Nuthinbutamuffin You suck! What's wrong with you? The Rainbow Children and One Night Alone are great musical pieces. You don't like them? Really The Rainbow Children is ny favorite album. You could just play that album to death and never get tired of it I simply Adore Everlasting now and Last December. How can you not also?
