With all the "Fam" talk around here I got to thinking that many people may not be sure as to whether they are "Fams" or are just regular old"Fans". I have come up with a list of things that may be able to suggest as to whether you are a "Fam"

I need other Prince “fans” to help me come up with other signs of potential “famdom”.



Here is the list I was able to come up with:

You may be a fam if you refer to a trip to Paisley Park as a pilgrimage.

You may be a fam if you became a Jehovah’s Witness after Prince converted.

You may be a fam if at the end of “The Gold Experience” when you heard “You are now an official member of the New Power Generation – Welcome 2 the Dawn” you believed it to be true.

You may be a fam if you asked Damon Dickson for his autograph at the celebration.

You may be a fam if under the “ Favorite (other) artists” section on your profile you answered “As if there are others”.

You may be a fam if you own 108 cd’s and 93 of them are Prince and the other 15 are acts such as The Time and Sheila E.

You may be a fam if you have ever defended the existence of “Right the Wrong” on the album “Chaos and Disorder” or the album “Chaos and Disorder” in general.

You may be a fam if you honestly believe that “One Night Alone” or “The Rainbow children” have potential HIT singles on them.

You may be a fam if you have ever cried upon being denied entrance to a private jam at Paisley Park. (I have witnessed this)

You may be a fam if you believe that Prince “deserves” his masters back from Warner Brothers even though he knowingly signed a contract giving up the rights to them.

You may be a fam if you ever signed an on-line petition for the DVD release of “Graffiti Bridge”.

You may be a fam if you refuse to own any boots because Prince has said that it is wrong.

You may be a fam if you have Prince or tattooed on your body.

You may be a fam if the entire decorating motif of your house or apartment can be described with one word: “Prince”.

You may be a fam if you have the word fam on your license plate (sorry Berry ).

You may be a fam if you regularly sign letters with phrases such as: “May U Live 2 See the Dawn”, “IwishUheaven”, or “I’ll C U in the Purple Rain”.

You may be a fam if you still occasionally throw out the “Wild Sign”.

You may be a fam if you wear “Get Wild Cologne” to a Prince concert.

You may be a fam if you have the old bronze heavy symbol chain linked necklace (with the peace sign in the circle part) hanging around your night lamp. (This one is more personal being as I just looked at my reading lamp and realized that this activity is rather “famish”.)

You may be a fam if you wear your NPG hockey jersey regularly.

You may be a fam if you had a cardboard cutout of Prince at your wedding (I once heard that someone did this).

You may be a fam if you are still paying off the first celebration on your credit card.

You may be a fam if you named a child or a pet after Prince or one of his songs.

You may be a fam if you paid $150 for the “Peace” single on Ebay.

You may be a fam if you have the “Neo Manifesto” and “Sacrifice of Victor” books on your coffee table.

You may be a fam if you became a vegetarian simply because Prince is one.

You may be a fam if you have ever cursed Mayte or Mani feeling that they have stolen your man.

U May B a Fam if this sentence looks okay 2 U.

You may be a fam if you have ever stripped naked in front of Paisley Park to get Prince’s attention (I have witnessed this).

You may be a fam if you have ever grabbed or attempted to touch Prince at Paisley Park.

You may be a fam if reading or hearing the word fam doesn’t make you want to .

You are a fam if this post upsets you.


I at one time have been guilty of many of these transgressions myself so I had better check my famdom


Okay I have probably in one way or another insulted every single person on this site. I can see my popularity plunging by the minute. Don’t take it too seriously y’all.

U mayb a fam if some1 says something bad about prince 2u and u want 2 kick their ass, even if that person is ur best friend!

You may be a "fam" if referring to yourself as such, makes you feel closer to Prince - as though you really are "family".
