BAD INFORMATION ABOUT PRINCE Hi, i'm glad i caught your attention. A few years i read a very bad article about Prince and the music journalist guy had absolutely no idea what he was talking about. He was quoted as saying "The artist formerly known as Prince had hits such as When a Dove Cry, Little Red Corvette and Oh Sheila"...lol. The song is "When Doves Cry", not When a Dove Cry, and Prince didn't perform the song "Oh Sheila". And later on in the article the journalist said "The singer claimed fame with his song Little Red Corvette, a song about a fast Red Corvette that was too fast for him"..lol. The song wasn't even about a car. And later in the article he said "Why would he name himself Prince in the first place and then change his name to a symbol?" LOL..Prince is his real name!! The article was written in a local newspaper and I wrote and email the guy about his mistakes and he never responded. Have you guys ever read a real bad article about Prince or something else in general that had the wrong facts? After I read that article it made me laugh and kinda mad at the same time because the guy had no idea what he was talking about.

there was an article in Ebony magazine a few years ago that said that prince was inspired by guitarist "JIMMY HENDRICKS", and was frequently known to do the Bill Withers song "Forever in my Life".
did they commission an intern to write that story?!??? i....feel.... cold as a razorblade, tight as a tourniquet, dry as a funeral drum......

I have this book called 'Rock Lives: The Artist Formerly Known As Prince' which at one point even mistitles 1999 as 1991. Loads of the info and especially the captions for the pictures are wrong - on one of the pictures Mayte is credited as Prince's dancer Lisa, and Rosie Gaines is in a picture of The Revolution. I have no idea where they find their information, I don't think the journalist that wrote the article was a intern because he regularly wrote in the newspaper, I told a friend of mines about this journalist and my friend told me that he actually saw the journalist out and about on the town, he said that the guy looks ands talks like a stoner...He had to be stoned to write that article..thats not the article he messed up, I remembered reading numerous articles he wrote that he messed up.

I recently saw a poster of Kurt Cobain where he was not only playing right handed but was playing a Gibson ES335. They must have cut his head out and pasted it. lol.
As far as lousy journalism when it comes to Prince, I used to pick up every Guitar Player and Guitar World etc... when I worked at Guitar Center and they were all pretty lousy. Most articles still say he was 17 when "For You" was released and that he's 5"2 and a bunch of other crap. Most say he's of white and black decent, that Purple Rain was autobiogrphical and numerous other things. The article you read takes the cake for sure that thing about "naming himself Prince", that's just sad.
