Sananda SO wants to be on the level of legend. Somebody please pray for that child. disbelief

And what's so painful with all this is Prince probably wouldn't know him if he passed him on the sidewalk. This totally gives me...

INTERVIEWER: So is it true what Sananda Maitreya had to say about the both of you being linked by telepathy and Phenomena happening when you're together?

PRINCE: Who?

INTERVIEWER: He used to go by the name Terrence Trent D'Arby.

PRINCE: Ooooooh, isn't that the guy that used to be half of Milli Vanilli then went solo and sang about wishing wells or something?

The telepathic thing may mean that since they are both connected to the same creative force that they are in turn connected to each other...inspired by the same things.

The wine in different bottles; that they are 2 different artists with 2 different voices. The Spillage; that they have inspired others. Hybrid being; physical/tangible and tech maybe?...That they are pioneers in this music revolution.

Then again maybe he's a tad bit delusional.

Can't make sense of the "...Phenomena happens..." part.

evillol Faaaaabulous! Is that definately for real?

If so, I don't blame Prince for acting that way. He'd have had more luck if he'd gone to MJ to do a few twirls and hiccups.

Yeah...I guess that part could be seen as "the giveaway".

Thing is, I don't know much about Sananda, the person. Never seen an interview or anything. So it's hard to know if he's:

1. Having fun
2. Trying to be deep
3. Trying to get this reaction so that people will talk
4. Just plain gone.

Either way, he has admiration for Prince. Often people delusional to this degree would not believe: "We are obviously both pioneers, he by nature, me by default ! As my musical elder he was one of my teachers."That one would be more likely to believe that he was Prince's teacher. This makes me think it's calculated.

I hope so, anyway.

Another possiblilty is that he is fixated on Prince and he's attempting to model his life decisions/outlook on what he believes Prince's would be.

If so, that's just creepy. But you must say, he does a better job in the "weird" department.

The liner notes for TTD's greatest hits package put him on the same level as Prince. I said to myself quietly, whoa

Greatest hits package?

What's that, Wishing Well, If You Let Me Stay, and Sign Your Name? Does he even have enough single releases, let alone hits, to justify such a compilation?

But that debut record was impressive.

Has anyone seen this interview with Sananda Maitreya? Strange stuff, especially when the interviewer asks about his connection with Prince and similarities in their career paths.

He may be nutty but he's still cute as a button. lol

I always thought this dude was strange, and his ego was outrageous! In the late 80s,he compared his music to the Beatles and when an interviewer asked him about the inevitable comparisons to Prince,he replied "Can't there be two genuises in one decade?".

Acctually, his first three albums are pretty wicked.

Introducing the Hardline According to…
Neither Fish nor Flesh
Symphony or Damn

Then it went pearshaped. I think he genuinely thought he was in the same stratosphere as Prince. Very deluded. He even proclaimed himself a genius in Q magazine after Neither Fish nor Flesh and he got a real hard time for that. He later gave a statement in the same magazine as part of the promotion for Symphony or Damn and said sorry for his pig headedness… I thought he had gotten over his self-importance issues until he changed his name and ditched his record company… Oh dear.

Vibrator and Wild Card are pretty dull affairs…

In the liner notes to Symphony or Damn he actually gives thanks to Prince for his support! eek

He is a genius, but it's ultra strange for a person to proclaim themself as such...

Some of what he is saying is supported by Biblical Scripture- in that man(all men, women, and children) is one spirit..
The road you choose to walk in this life, is a road that leads to the next.....

SANANDA : Myself and Prince are both emissaries and aliens
We have never consciously sought to copy the other. Our creative egos wouldn’t allow it ! We are obviously both pioneers, he by nature, me by default ! As my musical elder he was one of my teachers.
The truth is that we don’t need to stay in contact because we are in constant contact telephatically !
We are in fact both the same entity.
And it was the will of God that our wine be poured Into two different bottles
( there has even been some spillage into other Artists )
we are careful not to spend too much time toghether physically because when we do ( and this is no lie ) Phenomena happens
And then the next thing you know The Government is on our case.
It was prophecised long ago That the time we are living in now would contain a new type of Hybrid Being Come to help the world out of its pain, we belong to this team !

This is some bizarre shit, y'all. I have to give him the benefit of the doubt and assume the translation is seriously mangled.

Aliens? Telepathy? Wine? Phenomena, Government, Hybrid Beings???

I thought I was reading the Enquirer.

But then again, what if he's ABSOLUTELY RIGHT????

cool What is this? some kinda of Matrix thing? Either you are on what he is & you get what he is saying... or being sober you are just trying to wonder what the hell is he rambling on about.
