1. Adore.  When I was just getting into P's back catalogue, every guy I talked to/knew would mention this song as his favorite. "Oh, that's my jam" or "That is the greatest song ever." So when I finally heard it I was like, "What? This sappy song is what people are drooling over? Eh, skip." I'm still not a fan.
*please do NOT flame me for disliking Adore. I do not have the energy to defend myself today... Just note, I never said it was a BAD song, it's just too sappy for my tastes.* 2. The 3121 gig/tour/whatever kicking off on my birthday weekend in Las Vegas and there is no way in hell that I can afford to go.  I don't blame Prince at all, it's just disappointing that my birthday (which generally sucks anyway) will be even suckier b/c I'm not at the Prince concert.  The check. The string he dropped. The Mona Lisa. The musical notes taken out of a hat. The glass. The toy shotgun painting. The things he found. Therefore, everything seen–every object, that is, plus the process of looking at it–is a Duchamp. | |

I had discovered the whole Prince catalog in a 1 year marathon buying all albums one after another, so D&P sounded a bit weak after the 1983-1988 wonder years. Then O+> was released, & i was happier than ever  | |
