Well, starting from the 1999 tour (seen him twice on this tour), P ACTED like he recognized me from a show in L.A. (I had fourth row seats) at the second show in Long Beach, where I had third row. I'm saying "ACTED" cuz that's how it appeared. To both shows, I wore a hat very similar to the hat P wore in the "Automatic" video. So, that stood out somewhat. It appeared like P saw me during that show. That hat would have caught his eye from stage, especially with the seat that I had.Folks didn't really start dressing like P untill on his next tour. It looked like P saw me again at the second show in Long Beach. He never made any gestures, he just kinda nodded. A few people in front of me turned around and looked at me, so, it must have looked that way to them as well. SynthiaRose said "I'm in love with blackguitaristz. Especially when he talks about Hendrix."

My all time favourite Prince 'moment' (and it truly IS Prince caught having a 'moment') is during the birthday Parade show from Detroit '86 during 'Holly Rock' - where, after his fonky keyboard solo he just totally loses himself in the funk.
Gets me every time, the whole performance is just superbad and supertight. That, and him nicking my Raybans cuz he thought they were cool - but hey, that's a whole other story...

Mine was during the Gold Experience tour...first time I actually had front row seats.
Both Mayte & Prince smiled and laughed as I was one of the first with the Wild Sign pumping because I knew what was coming. Sadly I doubt they could pick me out of a line up the following evening

I love all his live moments! In concert, on tv, nobody gives good "live" like Prince!

I think his totally stealing the show at the Hall of Fame was pretty darn cool. I certainly proved that he was worthy of being inducted, and then some. Freaking awesome. I know that there is oodles and oodles more, but I was hoping that he would rip it up on the guitar and he definitely didn't disappoint.

ive heard about that. One that makes me laugh is from the Philly Hit n Run or was it Jam of the Year 97 where he gets a "big" lady up from the audience to dance. She trys to turn it into a 2 Live Crew show with her "sexy" dancing. Prince has to jump up on his piano to try and get away from her whilst shouting "security...security" Its all done in good fun though and its great to see because you realise that Prince has a very wicked sense of humour. Fuck the funk - it's time to ditch the worn-out Vegas horns fills, pick up the geee-tar and finally ROCK THE MUTHA-FUCKER!! He hinted at this on Chaos, now it's time to step up and fully DELIVER!!

Nothing that Prince did himself or what could be heard/seen at the club back then, but what came to my mind is this 84 gig (7th Street Entry), which is kind of different to other concerts back then because it's only Prince, Brown Mark and Bobby on all acoustic drums. Prince KILLS the guitar, and Brown Mark rocks the bass, too. Anyway, the best moment has to be at the end, you hear people clapping, then someone says in this shit-my-ass-has-just-been-kicked voice, "Jeez, who was that guy?" [Edited 4/22/06 5:33am]

I'm sure he didn't but it felt like it to me. He probably couldn't see us in the crowd we were only six rows back and on his side of the stage but I'm sure he didn't. It just felt like at that moment he did and I got all flushed with embarrassment and quickly looked over at my friend and smiled at her. Either way it felt like lust times ten to me. I've never, ever had so much lust for a man before. It's kinda scary!

I didn't personally see it, but when I got to sing "Play that Funky Music" with Prince last month, I'd hand the microphone to the crowd for the choruses. Someone told me Prince was smiling and nodding his head like, "Yeah, that's how you do it".
I can die happy now. | |

The other one is his guitar dancing on "ICNTTPOFY" on the Sign O' the Times movie. I hadn't watched that in years, but when I saw it last week, I made all the kids come and watch it so they would know what it's supposed to look like when you're a guitar god.

[Edited 4/22/06 5:33am] Yes, this is one of my personal favourites as well. Strange that there is no entry for 7th Street Entry on THE VAULT chronology, but they do list the circulating tape in their survey. Another reason this gig is so different is the set list, which is pretty out of kilter with what Prince was doing at the time. After all he was about to embark on the Purple Rain tour so playing songs like "Africa Talks To You" and Jimi Hendrix's "Crosstown Traffic" was pretty old school more in tandem with the One Nite Alone Tour than the Purple Rain extravaganza. . ONE of my many favourite moments is in the SOTT Video - when cat and Sheila E are doing their bit, and Prince is playing the drums - when the camera shoots to him , the look on his face is one of sheer happiness and he looks like hes totally loving the moment!!!It gives me goosebumps everytime I watch.. Check the chant 0:57 seconds into "Erotic City Jam" (second track), straight after Prince says: "That's right, the shoes match the pants". Tracklist: 01-Africa Talks To You (6:50) 02-Erotic City Jam (3:40) 03-Controversy/Mutiny Jam (3:57) 04-"Blues in G" (Red House) (5:04) 05-Feline/Give It Up Or Turnit a Loose (6:51) . the best live opening i ever saw him perform was when he parachuted down to madison square garden wearing rollerblades and ditched the chute without missing a beat, rolled onstage and begna playing drums. that was wild!

Inedeed, it was quite a cool impromptu performance, the type Prince does so well. The "power trio" also included Jerome Benton. It looked like a cut-price Revolution up onstage that night. A few minutes before Prince had just kicked up a storm with Sheila E., playing guitar on "Too Sexy". Both gigs are highly recommended. . "You don't frighten us, English pig dogs.
