PRINCE SAMPLES CD Box Set

Ages ago a boxed set of Prince samples was being sold by NPG/Prince/love4oneanother. I have a vague recollection of them being called the Budokan Box Set (something like 12 cd's for about $800 USD). They later changed their mind and didn't release the set. Did anyone get a chance to get them before they were pulled? If I remember it had the building blocks for all of P's songs (keys, drums, strings etc) in sample form.

Just curious...

I think the CD set was just bait on an already over-crowded hook.

Add to that few claims of world tours that never left USA/Canada, 3 Album titles that never materialised and combine that with what we DID get and you have yourself a very tasty reason to join NPGMC...even if the reality was less fattening

I remember thinking Prince had really sold out when i saw the advertisment for
that.
Fuck the funk - it's time to ditch the worn-out Vegas horns fills, pick up the geee-tar and finally ROCK THE MUTHA-FUCKER!! He hinted at this on Chaos, now it's time to step up and fully DELIVER!!
woot!

Some of these samples (maybe around 50 of them, all lesting a few seconds) circulate on P2P's & can easily b found.

Somebody here once told me that they were made available as a "trailer" on Prince's site back when he wanted 2 release the project.

Most of the circulating samples r not very interesting 2 use 4 a musician, though...

Musn't have 'em all. Though the one i have r mostly loops & beat samples from the Come/Gold/Exodus era, i don't have the "welcome 2 the dawn" nor any other spoken phrase... But i agree that it all sucks anyway.
