Wonderful Ass appreciation thread

I just recently dug out an old audio cassette bootleg I have with the track 'Wonderful Ass' on it. I haven't heard it in years and the quality of the recording isn't great, but this is clearly a great track, of the finest 1986/7 vintage. Superfunky, fantastic rythym guitar, playful lyric, sing-song chorus...

Do others agree 'Wonderful Ass' really kicks ass?
I'm testing postive 4 the funk

If you didn't have "a moment" when you first heard this song, you're already dead. dead

It's one of those, just amazing Prince songs, I think I prefer that it's unreleased and not perfect quality, I never want it to lose that special feeling. love

Yeah, you almost feel sorry for people who will never hear it. From a time when Prince could do almost no wrong.

There are small shades of it's "sound" in "Jam of The Year", but 10x better.

I've loved this song for many years...didn't know other people felt that way too!

Wonderful Ass & All My Dreams - I think his two best unreleased tracks. What a magical time for him, and us

Great tune.

It find it odd that Prince has mentioned the ass so many times, but never specifically the anus.

This is a great tune. 1986 and 1987 were great years for him creatively speaking. "Wonderful Ass", "Good Love", "Moviestar" and "Sexual Suicide" were some great jams.

I love the bassline. With the opening beats leading right into it, it'll have ya hooked.

But, yes, it should definitely remain an unreleased track for those searching through treasures to find. It's a pleasure just to listen to.

cool

Another gem from the massive workout known as 1986.

I totally agree with this too. I've got two different versions, both hissy as hell, and I don't know if I'd love them as much crystal-clear (but of course I would give it a shot).

Yes they are on back up and the revolution were still around, but I guess this is where u say that w&l wrote it and its only good cuz their on it....etc etc.

Yes they are on backing vocals like they were on a lot of tunes at that time and we love it whole wholeheartedly.

It dates from early 1983 (inspired by Vanity), and was pulled out for a revamp by Wendy & Lisa in 1986. smile

It's a wonderful fun-sexy song , like Sugarwalls, released as a single in 1986 it would have destroyed the charts all over the world, well maybe not in Iran, I still hope that he will release it unedited, please soon Mr Nelson pray
