I have been hearing this song playing on a gospel station I listen to for quite sometime and was irritated with who this artist was that was sampling Prince with Erotic City and now I finally found out who it is: His name is
Shadrach Robinson and the name of the song is "I Promise". It's Erotic City, but slowed down. How you gone take one of P's most explicit songs and use it as a christian song? I know it's not the first time or the last, but still. Some of you may disagree, but I really hate it when folks touch Prince's songs and I feel him when he doesn't want others doing his music.

I heard that song. I wouldn't call it a true sample, but it does have that Erotic City music sound.

I would not have guessed it.

Alot of elements of Prince's songs have been used in gospel songs. If it's done tastefully, then I really don't have a problem.

Have you heard the gospel version of "The Beautiful Ones"? That was one of the worst remakes of ANY song I've ever heard. All the writer did was replaced the word "baby", with "Jesus" and changed a couple lyrics.

My sides are hurting.

And to dustygirl the song may not be a true sample to you but IT IS. These folks couldn't come up with their own beat if their life depended on it, so they have to borrow from somewhere. Any Prince fan can tell it's Erotic City, it's even got the whistle part in it. So don't try to pull Shadrach's song off like it's an orginal. It's Erotic City. Shadrach just slowed his version down. Aside from a few artist, and I do mean very few, come up with their own tunes. Everybody's sampling. Everybody.

Turnitup, why are you attacking Bananacologne? You really need to apologize to him. All he did was post a direct link to Shadrach Robinson's website and you went into attack mode, as usual, because 1) You didn't bother to actually click the link to know that and 2) You are still holding a grudge from 2004 over some damn pictures you requested of Prince interacting with children. You seriously need to get some help for your obvious anger management issues.
