Go to www.radiotimes.com

Select: Radio > Tomorrow (18 April) > Chris Evans (Radio 2)

From the Radio Times website page for April 18 - referring to Chris Evans taking over the drive-time slot as from tomorrow - April 18:

"The announcement earlier this year that Chris Evans was to move into the drivetime slot vacated by Johnnie Walker unleashed a torrent of outraged letters to Radio Times magazine and gave certain newspapers yet another chance to take a pop at the broadcaster. Give the man a break!

"His Saturday afternoon show for Radio 2 has been a revelation, a real return to form and there's no denying that, when it comes to full-on, live entertainment, Chris Evans is the shiniest star in the radio firmament. This new run sees many of the elements of Walker's show left untouched - such as the business, travel and sport news - but it will mainly focus upon upbeat music to get you home in a good mood.

"Today sees the launch of a competition to fly to Minneapolis to watch Prince in concert, in his own living room. The radio event of the year - don't let the prejudiced anti-Evans voices persuade you to miss it."

It's previously been circulated that the big announcement is that the BBC has a purple ticket giveaway.

(The article writer above probably didn't realise that Prince has been based in LA rather than Minneapolis for his 3121 parties - unless the location for the purple ticket perfromance is now MPLS after all?)

I wonder if it will be a phone-in type of event? I never do those - but for a chance at that ticket, I think I just might!

I heard that Prince was supposed to appear on Evan's radio show when he was on Virgin radio, quite a scoop, but Prince pulled out and Evan's had a go at him on the radio about it. But yeah, he did perform on TFI Friday so I guess all was forgiven...

I definitely heard somewhere that the performance was supposed to be at Paisley Park, I thought that's where it was being held for sure.. but maybe not.
