GREAT SONGS you used 2 skip a lot but now Ur addicted 2 'em

Ok here's my list:

The Morning paper-I simply LOVE the guitar solo and the hornz section.

Pink Cashmere-Gotta love the string, ahhh damn you Clarie or Clare,,whateva.

Why you wana treat so bad-The solo man, The motherfucking solo.

Power Fantastic-Even tho I don't know does it mean, it still move me.

So far, So pleased-I love the way how they nailed their back vox at the end. The 'AAAaaahhh OOOoooh' part.

Under the cherry moon-I love the PIANO solo in the bridge.

3 chains of gold-Yet another song I don't know its meaning but I love the fact that it tells 3 different stories. I love his vocal in the slow tempo part when he said :You say you love me and then you don't.

Money don't matter 2night-The song have a REAL powerful message.

Willin and able-The steeles are THE VERY BEST BACKROUND VOCALISTS.

Take me with you-If only he sang it with Jill, I would be much happier.

Ur list,,wink

I'm with you on that one. smile

Along with most of the 'Come' album. I wasn't to keen on it at first but now I really like it.

I wanna be your lover.
i liked the song, but never play the album at all. My girl loves it and got me into it. It's got a little "Kiss" quality to it.

I have to agree. I didn't really listen to the 'Come' album when it first came out. Now i think it's one of Prince's most edgest albums.

I've found myself actually doing the reverse.
Use to believe there was no such thing as a bad Prince song. I would never skip a song. Now I don't have the patience to listen to some of them.

I've also noticed that I still like many of the songs many loath at the .org. Funny how each person hears each song and it moves them a different way.
I'm firmly planted in denial

"U're Gonna C Me"...while I'm not addicted to it, when I first heard it back in January as a download, I rarely bothered to listen to it...now, though, I sometimes get caught up in how gorgeous that melody really is...

Johnny from Gold Nigga.
The first time I listened to it I only gave it about 40 seconds before I shut it down and the first 40 seconds are all talking so I thought there was no music to it. Then years later when New Power Soul was about to be released I had Gold Nigga playing & couldn't get to the stereo to skip past it so it went on & played. What a shock - it was like finding a hidden track. I played it everyday for about a month.

Now you KNOW you should have listened to me on that one!!! wink

Tick, Tick, Bang - It sounded like lunchtime @ the insane asylum the first time I heard it, now I think it's great. Any song with the lyric, "So baby don't spit me out" deserves a closer listen...

There's 3 for me:

Around The World In A Day - used to skip it, but I love it now ("say papa, I think I wanna dance!")

Glam Slam - I'm still not too fond of the lyrics, but the music is great esp. the ending

The Sacrifice Of Victor - guess I never 'skipped' it, just didn't listen to it. It was too funky to die down though.

"Amen..."

Same here. I also gave Elephants & Flowers and I Wanna Melt With U the same shabby treatment. D'oh!

What a travesty! It was good from the get-go!

The production is dense, there's a lot of stuff goin' on in there.

You know, I have never liked this song.

Perhaps I should give it another go.

Are you serious? I bought that thing for the 3rd disc! I'm glad you're getting into it now. It's completely worth it. 200 Balloons! Hell yeah! If he would've just left off "God" and left on " or $" and "Horny Pony" it would've been perfect.

You didn't like I Know?...I loved it from the get go.

I used to not listen to the Ladder so much when I first heard it (I was 16) but now I can't get enough of that song.

Around the World in a Day had the same effect, didn't really dig it at first, but love in now.

Others that grew on me with time
New Position
Pink Cashmere
Money Don't Matter
Slow Love

WHEW!!! Thank you, Cornerman. I almost passed out when I read that! LOL!

I love that "God" is on there, but I would have loved to have "heart or $" as well...

"The Everlasting Now"

Nice funky song, but the chorus is lame. I always played his songs whenever I wanted to hear them, no matter who
was around. Even my parents sang along to "all you sorry motherf*ckers up against the wall" in the end. But now, with lyrics like these, I just cringe whenever that chorus comes up and quickly skip the track.

But once again, the chorus. "In the name of the father, in the name of the son". Puke.

Reinforces one of my theories.
