Elephants & Flowers - 1988 vs 1990 Just listened to the 1988 version of Elephants & Flowers and have to say that I really didn't like this version. The one for GB had more soul, in my opinion. The music in the original version lacked any funk. It's like he just threw it together at the last minute.
Let me know what ya'll think. _________________________________________

The 88 version is good, but the Graffiti Bridge version is alot better. One of my favs in fact. "Man, the living creature, the creating individual, is always more important than any established style or system" - Bruce Lee

The GB version is a truly great song. The world is a comedy for those who think and a tragedy for those who feel.

So far the score is:
Elephants & Flowers (88) - 0 Elephants & Flowers (90) - 4 And who says GB was a bad movie? Well, ok, GB as a movie was bad, but the album really kicks..... _________________________________________

i like the '88 version much, much, more, it has that heavier bassline (sax?), I like the lyrics much better, they are so much more imaginative and crazy. And his voice is raw and deep. And there are no toy xylophone noises, yay!
It is much more soulful to me than the polished antiseptic official one. My art book: http://www.lulu.com/spotl...ecomicskid

It's a shame the same cannot be said for the GB version of We Can Funk compared to all the earlier versions (Miko's guitar solo is just superb) 'I loved him then, I love him now and will love him eternally. He's with our son now.' Mayte 21st April 2016 = the saddest quote I have ever read! RIP Prince and thanks for everything.

Clearly I prefer the earlier version. No confusion, no tears. No enemies, no fear. No sorrow, no pain. No ball, no chain.

So far the total is:
1988 - 3 1990 - 5 and one that just loves them both! Listening to the original version of We Can Funk now, and Ur right! The Miko solo rocks, but mine fades out during the best part! _________________________________________
