Have you guys noticed how many female Prince fans ended up with him him...either working with or becoming involved with him in some respect. I think it is so cool...like...

Sheila E...obviously she adores him, looks up to him, loves working with him..

Mani...well fan, he was obviously her idol...now she is his wife...

Cat...HUGE Prince fan, wanted to work with him for years...she even said she wanted to try "to look like him" and "be like him."

Robin Power...fell in love with Prince when she was thirteen, when she got the Prince album, had to get front row seats at his concerts...thought he was the type of man that "black women were not suppose to like."

Anna Garcia...obviously in love with him and his music.

Interesting pattern. Don't know if lots of other superstars would do the same. It's gotta be an interesting dynamic to a relationship. As with someone like Mayte...who liked him but wasn't a fan before...it seems like that would be much more the making for a healthier relationship rather than having a relationship with someone who idolized you.

No Mani doesn't look really happy and as I've said before: she obviously needs some sleep!

It must be kinda hard for Prince to AVOID dating fans. That is if you are able to date someone who hates your music, but you don't wanna do that. Besides, the haters obviously stay away from him so he's mostly surrounded by ppl who either like and appreciate him or are truly fans. And not many artists dislike him, most think he's a genius.

Eddie Murphy once talked about how being a celebrity is like being swamped in pussy. Woman just throwing themselves at you. Once getting laid is no longer an issue, you can devote your energies to more important matters.

Like getting laid by non-groupies. Groupies are fun for a while, but eventually you start craving something else. Basically, you want what you don't have.

When you're in a stable relationship you want to be free. When you're free you want something stable.

As for Prince, well, I don't know. The guy seems to be totally addicted to making music. Women are like pitstops for him between studio time and touring. Music is his one true love, it seems. And no woman will get between them.

Which is why so many try.

I don't think Sheila E was that much of a Prince fan even thought she found him very talented. Let's not forget that when they met Sheila already had a career of her own by being the drummer/percussionist for George Duke Band, repaced her father Pete in Santana's band and had recorded 2 albums with her dad.

That idealistc views he has of women seem to be just as much a part of him as his music. The women seem to be muses that come in and out of his life. As Apolloina said "He is married to his music and no woman can compete with that." It seems that no woman has ever been able to. Since his passion for music is so great and women are his inspiration...the balance that can be required for a sucessful marriage is under attack.

I'm not saying Mr. Nelson can't have a great marriage with Mani or any other woman. That is up to him and how much effort he wants to put into it...but Prince never struck me as the type of man a girl would really want to marry. He seems like the type of man only available for a hot, emotional, passionate fling. He is so fun, exciting and dynamic that it seems he can't be committed to one woman because he can't be caged in...there is too many other inspirations out there he needs to attend to...too many muses he has to meet...he seems driven to make music because that is what he was put here for.

It seems like he wants to be married and love one woman...but the problem is he seems to fall in love with ALOT of women, sure lots of women he was probably with he didn't care about, but there seemed to be alot of women out there that he genuinely loved...oh boy and were the songs ever GREAT during these times. So I guess the music needs to be attended to first before any relationship.

This is just how I see the situation. Thank god for the women though...the songs wouldn't be so great if they didn't stir this intense passion in this dynamic man!

Ahhh, Prince is just like anyone else. I think he just wants LOVE, when the day is done. He wants the fairy tale.

But you know how exciting a new prospect is. He has chics swarming him, I'm sure. Sometimes love just can't compete.

Mani gives the rest of us obsessed groupies some hope though.
