question about "Adore"

I was listening to the Girl 6 soundtrack, and the song Adore is on there. The song opens with applause, as it does on SOTT...
Does anyone know the context in which the applause are on the opening of Adore..?

That is because it segues from it's gonna be a beautiful night. which is a live track that is why you heard the applause, and I guess spike didn't get a clean copy of the track so he used that one.

see..I know it follows Beautiful night on SOTT..but Adore wasn't (at least I don't think it was recorded live)..it was done in the studio, wasn't it?..ergo if done in the studio, why the applause..

Yes, but you can hear the audience sound on Adore because it starts before IGBABN completely faded out. So...

Yes, it's a cross-fade. You would have thought he when he was supplying the edited version for Girl 6 and The Hits that he might have dug out the original version without the applause mapped on which must surely exist.

It's funny I was thinking this exact same thought the other day.

It's one of those peculiar Prince quirks.

It works though !
Shut up already, damn.

I have a question about "Adore" myself. On my "Sign O The Times" CD, if I want to play "Adore", I can't just push the buttons and go to the track number. If I do, it goes to the track number but immediately goes back to the beginning of the CD. In order for me to play the song, I have to go to "It's Gonna Be A Beautiful Night" and speed through the whole song and then hit my pause button as "Adore" starts if I want to cue it. Does anyone else have this problem?

Totally agree, The Girl 6 soundtrack was the perfect opportunity to get a few
unsegued tracks - Adore (without the crowd noise from the fade out of It's
Gonna Be A Beautiful Night) and Girls & Boys (with the ending), but alas, it
wasn't to be.

It's un-segued on the original Crystal Ball album, but unfortunately it's not
circulating.

That sounds like a problem with your cd player.
