Full of contradictions ( and repetitions)

3121 is full of 'em.

First off.. isn't LUST a sin in his newb eyes? (Yet he says "you gotta make this woman Lust after this man)?

Secondly, he repeats his lyrics (this coming from a dude who said his biggest fear is repeating himself) on back to back songs, saying he "doesn't care". ex: TAC and BS.

More to come, but I'm twisted.

Maybe he's in love and Prince wants her to show him he cares. If he's not lusting, he's not sinning. biggrin

I think so but to be sure, I'll have to ask a relocated Catholic priest. (Not trying to offend, simply pointing out real issues we should be concerned with, instead of what sin Prince is singing about.)

Lust: ( http://dictionary.referen...rch?q=lust )

Intense or unrestrained sexual craving.

An overwhelming desire or craving: a lust for power.
Intense eagerness or enthusiasm: a lust for life.
Obsolete. Pleasure; relish.

An intense or unrestrained sexual craving in itself is not a sin. It's OK to lust for your spouse inside of a marriage. But the Bible does say that it's a sin to look upon a woman [anyone] to lust after her has committed adultery in his heart.

Personally, I take I & C to be the correct way to romance a woman. I think Prince might be trying to help you guys out there. biggrin

When did Prince say his greatest fear is repeating himself?
And don't use song lyrics as your example - I'm talking when
in an interview did Prince say this was his greatest fear.

rolling stone interview 1985

After all these years, does the music give you as much of a rush as it used to?

I increases more and more. One of my friends worries that I'll short-circuit. We always say I'll make the final fade on a song one time and [Laughs, dropping his head in a dead slump]. It just gets more and more interesting every day. More than anything else, I try not to repeat myself. It's the hardest thing in the world to do -- there's only so many notes one human being can muster. I write a lot more than people think I do, and I try not to copy that.

I think that's the problem with the music industry today. When a person does get a hit, they try to do it again the same way. I don't think I've ever done that. I write all the time and cut all the time. I want to show you the archives, where all my old stuff is. There's tons of music I've recorded there. I have the follow-up album to 1999. I could put it all together and play it for you, and you would go "Yeah!" And I could put it out, and it would probably sell what 1999 did. But I always try to do something different and conquer new ground. biggrin

Well, from this quote I don't think he meant he never wants to use the same words or phrases ever again, just not the same musical ideas.

For him to never repeat the same phrase again, he'll need to start recording in another language.
I've gone to find myself. If I should return before I get back, keep me here.

Still don't see anything about this being his "biggest fear".
