Falling In Love with PRINCE ALL OVER AGAIN

I’ve been watching clips of Prince’s live performances in the past 2 years, namely his performance of “Shhh!” from the Musicology tour and his Brit awards performance, and what else can I say but damn: I’m falling in love again with my one time hero.

In an age where I get to see musical acts like Michael Jackson self-implode, or Madonna resign to being just another pinup version of Kylie Minogue, Prince is still amazing.

His facial expressions, his command of timing, his overall energy and vibrance is amazing. At 47/48?, he still exudes sexiness on stage—he still looks as fresh and wonderful as he ever did.

Sure, he’s not doing the same acrobatics of the LoveSexy tour, and he has fined tuned his musical act to resemble a really awesome vegas act, but I’m not seeing him go the route of Rick James or Sly Stone anytime soon—he still looks absolutely alive.

This is the first time in ages where I feel the energy of Prince’s on stage presence again, and it made me smile.

Whatever it was that made me a fan in the first place—it’s still there in this man. And I am sooooo thankful that I am a Prince fan, that I’ve enjoyed an emense library of music, as varied as I am fickle, as astounding as I am demanding, and as optimistic as I am cynical. Thank you.
