Same with me, but it was Dirty Mind that hooked me.

I am sorry alexnvrmnd. I do not mean to be of offensive. I just mean the things they do to each other as men frighten me.

I was curious, because many Prince fans seem to come from this lot, because they don't really know how good Prince is, because they believe the hype from the press and stuff.

That's me. I hated and made fun of prince until 7th grade. I heard my bro's stereo playing "Thunder." I started grooving 2 it - stole the CD and listened to it "undercover" when I wasn't listening to Warren G and Snoop Dogg - then I came out of the closet with it around the same time Come came out - and I was an open fan after that. Crazy how u let societal stereotypes influence u

Interesting that it was Diamonds and Pearls that hooked you.

I remember watching Little Red Corvette, I think I was 12, and saying to myself what a weirdo! Then "When Doves Cry" came out and reeled me in and I've been a fan ever since.

THIS IS THE FUNNIEST SHIT IVE READ ON HERE IN AGES...

Which each attempt it gets funnier as he slides into the quicksand and we all wait for the GAY ORG MAFIA to come round and pull him out and lynch him...Priceless

I know, right? You think it'll be softer statement, more Politically correct, but then it's just out of the ballpark, but fouled!

I think I know what you are saying HenrikLarshole, and it's not offensive to me, if that makes you feel any better. When I saw a picture of Prince when browsing the music stores in the early 80s, I was pretty sure I wouldn't like the little fella's music. The album 1999 proved me wrong.

how did you know he was little? The general public doesn't think he's black, and doesn't know he's tiny.

I fell in love with Prince's first photo
when I was in the 10th grade. love Then I saw him on t.v. singing IWBYL and went hmmm confuse rolleyes and decided I really couldn't stand him.
It wasn't until Private Joy that he pulled me back in and by the time 1999 came round I was totally digging his sound. Purple Rain is what took me over the edge and I've been a loyal, dedicated listener since. music

Are we sure this is Prince's picture?

The chest hair isn't even close to what his looks like and the face isn't exactly on point with his either.

I remember being in the car when i was 10 or 11 and when "when doves cry' came on the radio my sister and i would yell out to mum to change the station as we hated prince.
then when i got into high school i met my mate who loved prince. I couldnt believe he loved him so much. I Slowly started to get into Prince starting from the parade era through Kiss.
Never looked back.
