Bob George vs. Cloreen Bacon Skin These two songs kind of stand alone in their own category of fucked up evilness (unless there are any others I've never heard) and I was wondering which one people thought was better. Personally i think Cloreen Bacon Skin is the better track. In fact I would go so far as to call it a masterpiece, albeit a totally weird and fucked up masterpiece. every time I hear this track I'm just knocked out by how good it is. I couldn't imagine anyone else ever doing anything so amazingly funky and weird. In many ways this track proves to me more than any other what a genius he is.
of course, Bob George is good too, in the same kind of way but doesn't quite stop you dead in your tracks like Cloreen Bacon Skin. Anyone else agree? I'm testing postive 4 the funk

CLoreen Bacon SKin is so cool because he dared to actually put out a 15 minute track (or however long it is) of him just goofing around and improvising on a studio album. Such a badass thing to do.

Bob George is refined A R T. CBS is just him jamming. It's probably one of several around like that. Bob George is a full on song...so it's really hard to compare the two... Now CBS vs You gotta shake something would be a better comparison. Christian Zombie Vampires

I like Bob George. | |

I like both but if I had to chose one then I would go with Cloreen because it shows Prince's sense of humor more than most of his other work.

One doesn't call oneself "Cloreen" on a forum board because one thinks "Bob George" is the better song. "Cloreen Bacon Skin" is miles ahead of "Bob George."
The entrance of the bass in "Cloreen Bacon Skin" is probably the single greatest moment in musical history. If you play that in a cemetery, I guarantee you that all the dead will rise and start grooving.

I totally agree. It is funk in its purest, most concentrated form. CBS cannot be beaten. I'm intrigued by these other tracks mentioned. Where is 'You Gotta Shake Something' from? and I haven't even heard of 'Ice Cream Castles' let alone its b-side. What is this? When did it come out? I'm testing postive 4 the funk

It's the record of the time that came out around the time of purple rain, The Bird and Jungle love from that album were featured in the Purple rain movie.

I didn't know there were so many other CBS fans! OMG, this track is nothing but drums and a bass with Prince saying whatever comes to mind, but it's still great! "I would say that Prince's top thirty percent is great. Of that thirty percent, I'll bet the public has heard twenty percent of it." - Susan Rogers, "Hunting for Prince's Vault", BBC, 2015
