I just got Sign O the Times DVD from Amazon CA and I must say I heard some saying the sound and video quality was poor but after viewing last night I thought it was great. Picture was clear and it sounded very good!!

I just caught the movie on cable--showtime I think. I hadn't seen it in 10 years. And it reminded me:

If you want to show somebody Prince at his absolute PEAK of genius as a performer, musician, and entertainer, show them THAT movie.

maybe it's that venue where the movie was filmed, but the stage looked so damned claustrophobic.
I think the Parade tour (black and white square floor on the stage)
and the Musicology tour had the best stages

I thought the Musicology tour stage set was the worst stage he'd ever had personally. Just a damned awful design, and a wasted opportunity. Many fans at the time who were lucky enough to get closer seats began complaining to NPGMC because the stage was too high, and they could only see the action if it was over their side, defeating the whole point of it being in the round in the first place.
