I entered with the following response to the question what are you prepared to do.....
When asked this question you initially say I would do ANYTHING. However, I realise I am not prepared to do anything which compromises my dignity or beliefs which means I will never qualify for this kind of competition. I pray you choose a truly deserving person not someone who is prepared to sell their soul for your ratings. Show Prince the respect he deserves and send a true fan. His music is his blood, if you don’t get it, forget it. Putting in this weird entry in this way is what I am prepared to do to win. In the distance a light shines and I know it is mine. Someday I will touch it because it calls me. It says cross the line, cross the line. I know everything is not always what it seems, so I pinch myself daily just in case it's a dream

Well done 67BirdHeartAttack-that is an honourable response from someone not willing to stoop to the lows of that show.I watched and my wife went to bed as she was working early this morning. When I logged on and saw the questions I was pissed off.I actually expected something stupid but this will be way over the top, and whilst I thought of a few things I would do I knew they wouldn't be outrageous enough to be chosen. And if I was chosen I would be outdone by some lunatic fanatic so I logged off and was going to wait for my wife to get home today to bitch about it and think of a similar response to yours. We should all as true Prince fans agree not to do something ridiculous and play Rove at his own game-ie. if the most outrageous thing is shaving your head off-that is not embarrasing and if we all agreed to not go further than this then we would have the upper hand. It would then basically become a lucky dip/sweepstakes.

The competition was on tonight's show. They didn't have to do anything weird, just answer some questions about Prince (most fans would find the questions dead easy). However, the woman who won was asked to do something weird because in her entry she wrote that she would scrub a toilet or eat meat (since she's a vegan) in order to win the comp. So Rove asked her to eat meat while scrubbing the toilet and she willingly did it.
Congrats to the 3 fans who got through, and to the woman who won. Have fun!

I just read at hq about a Dutch woman who's won a ticket too. Buhuuu Well, I've got noone to blame, I haven't sent any card. Congrats to those who won/win! I just hope at least one orger will win! Somebody has to share the experience

Congrats to the 3 fans who got through, and to the woman who won. Have fun! Oh my god, thats so intense. She actually ate meat!?! Like, actually? Ick. I guess many vegos and vegans start to eat meat again, but I don't think that's something you'd do because you're going to see Prince. It's a pretty big thing to cut out a certain food group, and I don't think it's such an easy decision to start again. But congrats to whoever won...I missed the show sadly...

You missed NOTHING! Lame assed questions such as What colour is associated with Price What is his real name etc etc etc You'd think for such a prize and trying to find such a huge fan they would have done their research a bit better and asked some questions that took some knowledge and would even get people watching that weren't prince fans to go "really, is that true" Anyway I guess you can't expect anything better from the likes of Rove. Charlotte was the editor of the old Prince Australian mag called 7. I haven't seen it for years. The questions were easy but I am sure each of them were nervous. I got the Bangles question wrong because I jumped in 2 early after the mention of "girl band" and said Apollonia 6. So who is Tracey - is she an org'r

A one in 3 chance to fly to LA to see Prince petform live in an exclusive once in a lifetime experience, or drink a few beers (a few, well enough to make you forget Prince and THE REVOLUTION!) and blow your chances completely. I just pray that the winner really is a "deserved" winner. [Edited 4/18/06 22:56pm] In the distance a light shines and I know it is mine. Someday I will touch it because it calls me. I entered but didnt get the call up..obviously...I hope Tracy has a ball, is she an orger? you know what was weird, we were all pressing the buzzer and I could never tell who's had gone off - I answered one question without even knowing if it was me or not - I couldn't see that there were lights behind us. Everyone at the studios was really nice, the locations/segment manager really looked after us and things just run unbelievably smoothly. There is a 10 second delay in the broadcast, but other than that it's live tv! I was one point behind in the final score I was so slow off the mark in the beginning

also answered 22 positions in a one night stand instead of 23 fan, my ass He actually said Lisa & Marie was his backing band in the 80s. I laughed real hard when he said that. But I'm sure if I was put on the spot I would stuff up. And congratualtions Charlotte for making it onto the show. You nearly won! I could tell that you knew alot of the questions but Tracey or Jay hit the buzzer a split second earlier than you. Bad luck, I guess it was fastest finger first rather than who knew more about Prince. [Edited 4/19/06 2:20am]

not that seeing Prince in concert any where, any time, any place isn't a huge deal but I came across the below story which sort of takes a bit of the gloss off for me.
Looks like the concert is NOT in HIS house!! from Rolling Stone "According to papers obtained by thesmokinggun.com, PRINCE was slapped with a lawsuit by Utah Jazz power forward CARLOS BOOZER in January, after the funk-rocker made renovations to the Los Angeles mansion he was renting from the basketball star for $70,000 a month. Alterations to the property without Boozer's consent allegedly include purple stripes and the numbers "3121" -- the name of Prince's latest album, out this week -- painted on the mansion's exterior, purple monogrammed carpeting and plumbing for beauty salon chairs. The case was dropped last month, and the home is reportedly now on the market for $11.9 million. Prince -- who recently surprised fans with a Tuesday in-store performance at the Hollywood Sunset Tower Records -- plans to hold a promotional concert for 3121 at the pad." This story was end of March and I cannot find any stories anywhere else that confirm the house has been sold, if Prince bought it etc etc etc. [Edited 4/19/06 20:37pm] In the distance a light shines and I know it is mine. When I read about the evils of drinking, I gave up reading.

cool so it's not sold yet then - so if all orgers pool our resources and donate to the fund we could scrape together some pennies and make an offer on the house then rent it back to him for a nominal fee each time he wants to give a party or do some rehearsals etc provided the "owners" are allowed full access!!
