how awesome is MOONBEAM LEVELS This has got to be the most insane decision Prince has ever made.... to not release this song. It's fucking incredible.... a Prince classic had it been released. A definite #1 single in 1983/84.

I like it, but #1? It's a little strange for the masses I think. Maybe if I had a clear copy I would think differently. It does have a "Free" sound to it (didn't it get replaced by Free on 1999?)

i think it just me, around here but i don't really care for moonbeam levels, little girl wendys parade, theres others here with us, a place in heaven, for some reason, they just dont say prince to me. when i listen to all the released stuff around the time of those recordings, they just dont seem to fit into what he was doing at the time. forgive me all, i do still listen to them-they just don't do anything for me..... noituloveR lautiripS weN a fo gninwaD eht si sihT | |

I just think Prince has a hard time separating the wheat from the chaffe. He thinks everything he creates is awesome! Definitely in my top 5 outtakes. Maybe #1. | |

Clearly, a lot of folks on here digs the shit out of this song, if for no other reason that different folks are always writing threads about this song. If it wasn't for the song "Free", this I feel, would have been on the 1999 album. He probably didn't include it cuz it sounds waaaaay to similar to Free. Odd that he didn't release it as a b-side since he released the sound-a-like Horny Toad backing Delirious. But, yeah, it's definately one of my favorites. Very cool chorus.
