Yep, between the 5th and 10th May.

ok, it's between the 5th and 10th of may, and only ONE person has found a ticket so far? hmmm

Who's the one?

Is it only one that the org knows of?

Maybe he realized the album is lame after all.

I'm with you TimeKeeper.....3121 is a horrible album!!! Prince was a lot more innovative when he wasn't trying to be the most popular guy on the block. There was a time when PRN didn't care to win awards!!!! Where's that guy?????

Imagine if he NEVER had to deal with f'ed up managers, rec companies, or money. Then all this time he couldve concentrated on MUSIC instead of tryin to change things OTHER than his music.

Who knows? I think his desire for mainstream appeal resulted in some great music, like WDC, for example.

Or maybe his 94/95 concerts wouldn't have had this raw, angry energy without having to deal with managers and rec companies.

He could have concentrated just fine on his music, but you're leaving out one key element. THE MAN IS NUTS!!! He has a lot of isses and that's why he had problems with others. He could have re-negotiated his deal at the end of his contract. But instead, he chose to make a scene, which at the end of the day made him look ridiculous.

Had he kept his cool with Warner Bros., they could be promoting the hell out of his record right now.

I guess he figures that a US showing of the Brit Awards is a 'new' appearance.

Call My Name was huge on Urban , especially Urban Adult stations where is was in the Top 10 in aiplay for months.

Which makes it even more strange that BL&B got a luke warm response when released to this format. Maybe its just the fact the CMN is a much better song . But BL&B didnt even go top 20 on Urban adult.
It's funny that not even Tom Joyner is playing any songs from the album. I think Satisfied is a perfect fit for R&B.

Actually, Tom Joyner is the ONLY place that I have heard Black Sweat which I really enjoy. I am really at a loss for words for this radio silence. I have called most of the stations in Columbus and nothing. I even know one of the jocks and she even said that they had it but weren't playing it. I asked why and she said that it was up to the program director. I asked who is that SOB?

I said it before and I will say it again, Universal's promotion of this album sucked hot sweatty monkey balls. nod

When I am forced to listen to radio, I have not heard a single song from this album in Chicago, period. When Musicology was out, I heard the title track and Call My Name all the time here.

nod true story. i have heard BS only one time last week on the Tom Joyner show.

I'll reiterate what I said in my earlier post...if he doesn't care how his records sell or chart, why sign with a major label?

i don't believe he thinks highly of the industry or the way it manipulates the charts - i think his musicology "experiment" was a clear slap in the face to all of that - but i *do* think mainstream success means a lot to him...maybe more than it should. i really wish prince would decide once and for all whether he wants to be a pop icon or a musical innovator. either path he chooses, he'll always have both labels connected to him...but i think he wants to have it both ways on certain levels that aren't realistic...and that has tripped him up throughout his career.

He was both at one time. Maybe that's the frustration, he now can't figure out how to be both? hmmm
