When I am forced to listen to radio, I have not heard a single song from this album in Chicago, period. When Musicology was out, I heard the title track and Call My Name all the time here.

I totally agree. Universal hasn't done much of anything with 3121.
I'm not a fan of "old Prince". I'm not a fan of "new Prince". I'm just a fan of Prince. Simple as that

Some people partake in the food they spread out on the table, then there
are people that enjoy watching people eat it all up.

Maybe this time--Promoting 3121 doesn't matter 2nite.

Maybe there's a bigger project that he is working on that will boost the sales
of the CD..you know that's one thing I Love about Prince..
He doesn't always let his 'left hand know what his right hand is going to do.'
It's a challenge to wait to see what he has up his sleeve.

i dunno how things are here in mpls radio-wise, since i seldom listen to the radio anymore (save for KFAI, sometimes). i do remember the local urban format station playing the hell outta "call my name" when it first came out, though...they played it so much it made me hate the song. lol

Call My Name was huge on Urban , especially Urban Adult stations where is was in the Top 10 in aiplay for months.

Which makes it even more strange that BL&B got a luke warm response when released to this format. Maybe its just the fact the CMN is a much better song . But BL&B didnt even go top 20 on Urban adult.

It's funny that not even Tom Joyner is playing any songs from the album. I think Satisfied is a perfect fit for R&B.

If his dealings with WB, Arista and EMI weren't enough to do it, I suppose nothing will be.

I wonder if it would have done better if there was a video to accompany the single.

Strange that they didn't make a video for it. At least the video would have helped with the Tamar/Tamar Braxton issue.

I heard Black Sweat once on Tom Joyner. I'm suprised he's not hyping it more.

Even when I visited and had the radio on for a brief period, I heard Call My Name.

Maybe Prince can care less about album sales. It debuted at #1, maybe he's satisfied with that. Who really cares? People have lives you know. Maybe he's busy writing more music, hanging out with friends, or whatever.

Just another of those absolutely indecipherable Prince moves. Maybe he's already had a falling out with Universal, and will now go back to being the reclusive artist.

I think Prince is already probably thinking about the new album. lol

Guy seems to get bored of his new albums minutes after they drop.

I find the lack of appearances a bit puzzling, too. My bet is still that he's busy 24/7 with rehearsing for the tour right now.

Yeah, it's weird that it's so quiet. I mean, the man's been long enough in the business to know what he's doing, at least you'd think so. But maybe this is just the calm before the storm... he's just waiting until we've almost lost our hope and then... BANG, here I am!! It's risky, but P's not stupid and I think he knows what he's doing.

Theres a simple reason for Prince's lack of public appearances people , Mani saw him give Tamar that peck on the cheek at the brits and shes grounded him for a decade out of jealousy , hes currently tied up in a corner of Paisley Park whimpering for mercy .

I bet Universal has pulled back on the promotion too. They probably spent a ton on promotion for the golden ticket and the itunes promotion, and it didn't seem to work. Sure it's a number 1 record, but maybe they expected more on the sals side, or the second wek was probably not what they wanted.

Prince plays SNL and doesn't perform the single, I can guarantee Universal wasn't happy. Personally I loved "Fury" but if you're selling your cd, you gotta play the single that you're pushing.

Now, the more I think of it, I think Prince should, after all, do American Idol. He'd just have to talk to the ppl for a little while, share his thoughts and give some advice, inspire them. It would be the best episode ever and it would be a good promo. In my opinion that is not selling yourself. He doesnt have to mention his new cd, that wouldn't be necessary. I know P's extremely shy but he doesn't have to touch the ppl, just talk a little for a few minutes. Common you're a religious person Prince, be kind and share and spread your magic! worship

i think we can blame the 3/21 release date...prince was excited about this album in december.....having him wait three months was too long..

he just might be bored...

with that being said though, as much as i have followed prince's career i will never say that i know what his patterns are or what his thought process is..im just having fun pontificating...
