how many songs on the "sheila e" LP did Prince write?

okay okay i know that"girlsongs" is a dead giveaway that Prince had his hand in wrting something...but the "sheila e" LP, the one that has KooKoo and Hold Me, is a very good album (i just bought it again on vinyl for $1 in mint condition), and it doesn't sound very dated at all...is Prince also "pretty man music"? there's a cut on here attributed to that writer, and not taking anything from sheila as a song writer, but this sounds like a straight up Prince jam that sounds a lot like a bunch of other Prince cuts
you look better on your facebook page than you do in person hmph!

"Wednesday Like A River" was always my favorite from that album. Oh, and to answer your question, I don't know.

One Day (I’m Gonna Make You Mine)
Koo Koo
Pride And The Passion
Boy’s Club
Love On A Blue Train

Prince also wrote a song called "Hold Me" but it's different than the one on this album.

And I love Faded Photographs.

Tony Toni Tone also played on this album.

The 12" single of Koo Koo is hot too, with the full verion of Paradise Garden.

Such a great record. love

The non-Prince stuff on the LP really shines for me. I enjoy the Prince material, because it's all good stuff, but there's no escaping Prince was low on ideas for this album, all the songs are in a similar upbeat funk-pop vein, and Pride & The Passion and Boy's Club border dangerously on filler (remember I love the whole LP, so please no whiners at that remark).

The trio of Wednesday Like A River / Hold Me / Faded Photographs is sublime - 3 shoulda-been-singles right there in a row ( nod Hold Me was ) - Brilliant track order cool

The liner notes are the first occasion that I remember seeing "I" written as "Eye".

So true. A classic segment. Its just a shame "The World is High" didn't get on there! That was ahead of its time!

Yes, it's available on CD, but it's not in print, or as easy to get as the first two albums.

Try eBay or other 2nd hand websites, you should be able to find one for a decent enough price, I think mine cost about £30 ($55), that was a good few years back, but I've seen 'em go for cheaper.

I got mine on CD years ago, but only 2 or 3 years ago my friend got one on Ebay for $20. I see them a lot.

I wonder how much of the "prince/sheila" songs Sheila actually wrote, and what their process was.

this is my favorite song on the album music They missed a golden opportunity to release it as a single. In 1987,this would have been a massive pop hit.
