3121 entered the charts at #1 last week and that was due to all of Prince's "Loyal" fans. This week the cd drops to #8 and will continue to slide unless Mr.Happy gets his TV apperances together and gets a fresh/new single out A.S.A.P ! Incense and Candles or Beautiful ,Loved and Blessed are two singles that would get radio and MTV play if they were to be the next "official" singles. Jay Leno,Oprah,Ellen and the MTV 3121 Golden Ticket special all need to happen over the next month for this cd to stay on top. This is a good cd don't let it slip away due to poor / no promotion !!! (example:The Gold Experience)

I think once show dates are set he will make his rounds and the CDs will increase. I also believe another single/video is in the works. It's still very early.

I posted a topic last week asking why Prince hasn't appeared on Ellen, Oprah, and Late Night tv...It's INCREDIBLE that he hasn't!!

No TV appearances for his biggest comeback in years. Once again Prince's marketing skills are less-than-smart and leave me shaking my head. Universal has a lot to do with this, possibly...

the lack of tv apperances has definitely got me puzzled. He has done plenty of club per4mances [a few surprises] with Tamar & they rocked SNL 2 promote the cd. that's all good. but y hasn't he taken advantage of Leno, Ellen, Letterman? hmmm, what's goin' on in that tiny brain of his?

PS. 3121 IS STILL #1 ON MY CHART.

The only thing I can think of as to why he hasn't done the TV rounds yet could be that he's waiting for May. Here in America, we have 3 months in the year where there are nothing but new TV episodes, November, February and May. Prince might be waiting for sweeps months, especially as the TV season winds down people will be watching TV for sure. When Prince started the Musicology promotion, it was in February 04 with the Grammy's. Just my theory.

Tamar's album is cancelled for May now as well.

Sometimes I think he is happy right where he is at-this way he can still walk around the grocery store and get a box of Cap'n Crunch unless he is in the mood for Trix.

Maybe he's just chillin'. Takin' it easy. Maybe no tour is in the works. He may have just released 3121 as a teaser to his next project. Who freakin' knows. I'm ready for the tour too, but I'm starting to wonder....
