Im nto really interested in any remixes with his music of today to be honest. Except for a guitar ravishing ending to Black Sweat and extended 3121.

But I miss them olden days of yore called the 80's remixes

The 1980s 12 Inches were great because the songs didn't stray too far from the original. They were just longer and switched up a little within the song.

Most of the 1990s remixes sounded worse than the original so I really don't miss them anymore. I do miss the B sides though.

I sure fucking do. That "Let's Go Crazy/Erotic City" 12" spoiled me in high school. B-Sides from Prince was so cool back then. Songs like Alexa De Paris was just too cool. As a side note, I can't stop listening to "She's Just A Baby." That would have been a great B-side on something.

I know this is off topic, but damn, Guy's (u know, teddy riley's band from the late 80's) extended remixes were friggin' killer. Almost like whole new songs. Prince did that on "thieves in the temple" remix. That was like a whole new version almost.

On the "cream" maxi single, i put "do your dance" as a seperate song LOL. Love that song. Its silly and fun to dance to.

Exactly! I loved the fact that I'd be getting a new song on the 12", even if they were a longer version.

Extended Versions, B-Sides and Remixes are what completely spoiled us as Prince fans back in the day. Not only did Prince release a new album almost every year of his career, but from 'Sexy Dancer' to 'Gold,' we were gettin either an extended version of a song, a b-side, a remix or any combination of the above every 2-3 months!

Just off the top of my head

1999
1999 single w/How Come U Don't Call Me Anymore
Little Red Corvette: Extended Remix w/Lady Cab Driver
Let's Pretend We're Married single w/Irresistible Bitch
Delirious single w/Horny Toad

Purple Rain

When Doves Cry single w/17 Days
Let's Go Crazy single: Extended Remix w/Erotic City
Purple Rain single w/God
I Would Die 4 U single: Live version w/Another Lonely Christmas

Around the World In a Day
Raspberry Beret single w/She's Always In My Hair
Pop Life single: 2 Extended Remixes w/Hello & Girl
Paisley Park single: Extended Remix

Parade
Kiss single: Extended Version w/Love or Money
Mountains single: Extended Remix w/Alexa de Paris
AnotherLoverholenyohead: Extended Version

Sign 'O' The Times
Sign 'O' The Times single w/La, La, La, He, He, Hee
If I Was Your Girlfriend single w/Shockadelica
U Got the Look Single: Extended Remix w/Housequake Remix
I Could Never Take The Place of Your Man single w/Hot Thing Extended Remix & Dub

Lovesexy
Alphabet St single: just a remix
Glam Slam single: Remix w/Escape
I Wish U Heaven: Extended Remix w/Scarlet Pussy

Batman
Batdance single: Extended Remix w/200 Balloons
Partyman single: Extended Version, Remix, and Feel U Up
The Arms of Orion single w/I Love U in Me
The Scandalous Sex Suite: 3 Remixes and Sex

Graffiti Bridge
Thieves in the Temple single: Remix and house dub
New Power Generation single: Funky Weapon Remix & 'TC's Rap', 'Brother With a Purpose', 'Lubricated Lady', 'Gett Off', & 'Loveleft, Loveright'

Diamonds and Pearls
Gett Off single: Extended remixes w/'Horny Pony'
Cream single: Extended version & remixes
Diamonds and Pearls single w/samples from other track off album
Money Don't Matter 2 Night single w/'Call the Law'
Insatiable single w/'I Love U in Me'
Thunder single w/'Violet the Organ Grinder'

While we don't get to see packaged CD singles w/B Sides much anymore, the virtual B-sides off the Musicology single made me feel like it was mid 80s all over again with 'Magnificent', 'Silver Tongue' and "United States of Division'

Yep, I sure do miss them. As a few of you have already said, the 90s remixes were not as good. Prefer regular extended versions any day.

Black Sweat def needs alonger version! I am justing getting into it when it cruely finisehes. There is a longer version of that song somewhere and I want it goddamit!!!!!

oh yes. eye definitely miss them. eye recall the xtended 'MOUNTAINS' 'I WOULD DIE 4 U', & 'HELLO' Remember the 3 versions of 'I WISH U HEAVEN' & the 'SCANDALOUS [SEX SUITE]'?. Absolute genius. C'mon Prince, get in the studio & pump out something loooong and funky from 3121. Eye'd love 2 hear an xtended/remix of 'BLACK SWEAT', 'SATISFIED', & 'BEAUTIFUL, LOVED, & BLESSED'

Yes.

Those 90's Maxi-Singles were a joy:

'Gett Off' with Violet the 'Organ Grinder'
'Cream' with 'Etheral'
'Space' with 'Universal Love' & 'Acoustic'

Even 'Come On' and 'Greatest Romance' maxi-singles had some bright spots on them.

I miss them greatly. They added a lot of spice and funk to album releases.

I lived for the 12"'s I still got them all. It was like new remix album when you had all of them combined with the b-sides.

it seems like the songs are "extended" but its TOO subtle.

Like LOVE has the end "club" section and BBB has the little funky tail end.

But thats all way too short.
