As for swearing being an avenue for destructive behavior and a negative mindset. That's bullshit. You can do just as much if not more damage using pretty words--hell, you can quote the Bible all day long and achieve nothing positive.

Context is the key. How you use your words, where do you use them, whom you address, what's your tone of voice. For Prince, as a pop musician creating music for the masses in a country where Freedom of Expression is protected by the law, it's a fairly safe avenue to use curse words.

P has always put his musical themes in a pretty virtuous context. Just because he's created songs like Head, Sister, Lady Cab Driver, Zanallee, Billy Jack Bitch etc. doesn't mean that he is necessarily wholeheartedly, the activity depicted in those songs; he's just objectifying it. Yeah, he hits on sex a lot, as an aesthetic, but even the new Pope's recent encyclical letter hit on sex quite a bit -- context is key.
