I miss the innocence of childhood, and all its beautiful dreams. I miss climbing huge vined banyan trees, running in the park barefoot playing marbles, and fishing for crawfish in the ditches that watered the sugar cane fields, with vienna sausages tied to string - attached to the end of sticks.
I miss staying at my best friend's beach house on the shore of Puako on the island of Hawaii, for a months at a time. We would stock the house with Dorito's  , Ritz Cracker's, cheap food, cheap rum, cheap wine  , cheap beer, the choicest bud  , and a 6 person bong...and play either truth or dare, spin the bottle  , or PassOut.
I miss living within the confines of a sugar plantation community,  where the first thing you hear in the morning is the rooster's crowing, and the last thing you hear at night  are the trade winds, rustling through the leaves in the trees...
I miss the days when all 7 of my brothers and sisters would share the same space, I miss my mother whose strictness made me who I am today (I lost her mind to Alzheimer's), and I miss telling my father to look up at the same star as I across the miles on Sundays - he died you see. 
And finally, I miss the love  and aloha  of the people of Hawaii...
