Nostalgia

(sigh)

We all have things that we miss and want to go back to and experience again if we could.

I just want U lot 2 share them with me. So...

What Do U Miss Most??

U could be like me...

I miss the days when I would actually be thrilled about Christmas Day.
Days when I wouldnt be able 2 sleep cuz I knew I was getting that Lego Flamethrower that I had been going on about 4 months.
Running down stairs ripping open ya prezzies and being delighted no matter what pile of crap U got.

Cuz in those days even if U got a pair of pajamas that were 2 small U could roll them up and they would become a lasso - great 4 strangling your sister with.

Nowadays? Well, these days I have bets with my sister (3 yrs older than me) on who is gonna get the most underwear 4 Christmas. She wins of course, unfortunately I dont have a girlfriend who can buy me sexy see thro laced lingerie...
...I lost £10. Bitch.

Nope, the great old days are over. The crap future days are still 2 come and the Everlasting Now is about as exciting as a Digested Limpet at a Convention 4 the Euthanasia of Inbred Whippets...

I also miss the great days of the General Discu...oops!!!...nearly...

Well, whatever, its good 2 B back.

Take Care of That Ass Y'all!!! wink

Hmm.

I miss the days when my mother was alive.

Other than that, why live in the past.

Oh, and the days when my legs weren't sunburnt from band camp. And no, there are no "one time at band camp" American Pie stories, so don't fuckin' start.

Wow Battier I'm sorry. This doesn't seem right at such a young age.

This is also very depressing personally being as my Mom was diagnosed with cervical cancer yesterday. sad

On a lighter note I've been meaning to tell you that the one thing that I really respect Shane B. for is the fact that he stayed in school. Very rare and impressive in this day and age.

I hope all goes well with your mother, and she comes out okay. My mother was diagnosed with breast cancer when I was 11, and gone 9 months later.

As for the Shane Battier thing, he's indeed a good role model, for anybody. His sportsmanship, his intelligence. I mean, have you read any of the interviews with Battier?! biggrin And a religion major. And the whole chi thing...

A respectable man, he is!

Things I Miss:

I missed SexLovely...but now that he claims he's back, I can go back 2 making fun of him again...with the occasional flirtatious incentive. wink

I miss being in weather where I could actually fucking breathe and my hair (although never decent-looking)...was semi-decent. (Fucking humidity!) Currently 92 blasted degrees. mad

I miss my mother making snacks 4 me after school...wait a minute, she never did. sad

I miss not having breasts. Yep, I miss not being able 2 run my fingers over my chest without feeling those 2 bumps there. I remember that strange feeling. mr.green

I miss the OLD 2the9s...the one that was actually funny! evil

Let's give this a spin.. What do I miss?

- A more stellar cast of naysayers to bring everybody's blood pressure up.

- Threads that reach 300 posts in a matter of days.

- People with multiple nicks who identify themselves as they discard personalities.

- More accomplished trolls.

- Race threads that are about race cars.

That's about it.

Just move to Canada, man. They are decriminalizing blunt, and you can avoid arrest for drunkeness if you aren't behind a wheel and tell the cops you're full of Canadian beer.

BTW, here's what our Prime Minister had to say about pot when asked if he ever smoked it...

"No. When I was young, we had cigarettes, and I didn't smoke. The word "marijuana" was not used. By the time I heard it, it was too late for me to try."

Regrets... I had a few.

I miss summer vacation...3 stinkin' months of nothing...

I miss the moronic thrill of discovering a few pages from a discarded Playboy or Penthouse while out in the woods, and feeling like you've hit the jackpot...

I miss coming home and dinner already being made...

I miss thunderstorms(southern Cali has NO weather whatsoever)...

I miss seeing fireflies at night...(southern Cali doesn't have that, either..)

I miss threesomes...

I miss twosomes...

I miss being excited about going to an amusement park...(no jokes, Aero..lol)..

I do not, however, miss:

Acne...

Being broke...

Homework...

Curfews...

Missing out on R-rated movies...

My mom buying my clothes...

My dad trying to talk to me about sex...

Not being able to drive...

The first day of being the "new kid" at school...

Months of cold, slushy weather in the winter, followed by months of hot, sticky, humid weather in the summer...(southern Cali is the same, day-in and day-out)...

Gnats flyin' into my eyes and mouth...

Wonderin' if a girl likes me or not...

Report cards...

I used to love sigmund and the sea monsters!!

a little 70's/80's TV (useless) trivia...

-What were Sigmund's mean, nasty brothers' names?

-When Richie left 'Milwaukee' on Happy Days, where did he go?

-What movie inspired 'Happy Days'?

-When Mork from Ork called his planet at the end of every show, whom did he speak to?

-Name any 3 of the 5 daily shows on the Sid and Marty Kroft show(i'll give you one: Sigmund and the Sea Monsters)?

-What was the car's name in Knight Rider?

-What was Uncle Jesse's CB radio nickname?(ever notice they would push 'turbo' and then jump a hidden ramp in a random bush?)

-What well-known show always followed 'the Love Boat' on Saturday nites?

-What Love Boat character eventually became a Republican congressman?

-Who played Willis' girlfriend on Diff'rent Strokes?

-Who played Penny on Good Times?

-Who's famous pop star/rocker's mother played on Good Times. His or her's mom played Helen, the wife in TV's first interracial marriage(i think)...?

-and finally: who had no life without TV in the late 70's and early 80's?(tough one...ME!)
