I am 31. Became a bit of a Prince obsessive (ie buying all new albums on day of release etc) around 1989, when I was 18.
Just somewhere in the middle,

Im 17. Its unfortunate but I have never personally met anyone else my age that was even halfway into Prince.(except at the Celebrations or concerts) Kids these days...they dont know what theyre missing eh?

am i invisible ... ugh 17 here 2 ... though i swear i hit 40 mentally and physically 5 yrs ago ... tribulations man *sigh* what can I say ive had a turbulent life, it is good 2 have been tossed ahead of the game I suppose the bonus is clear as day ... it has been proven that I can match some of u elderly in terms of mental endeavors if I think ‘adult’ and flip the ‘proactive’ side of my brain on hehe im just playin ... im being my usual freaky self

now heres a pointer fUnKyNpG, perhaps if u didnt refer 2 us youngins as KIDS some of us would show ourselves more often, shed our inhibitions and rock this mutha wink Keep the faith there r still musically intellectual peeps out there u just have 2 uncover them, lift every rock and u may strike gold one day ... hell u can always force prince on your friends u will at least get some closure hehe ... but it kinda only works if u lock the house and steal the keys but dont tell anyone I told u that ... biggrin

I am 17 but I've been a Prince fan for years. When I was in my mums womb she played prince all the time.
When I got older and started listening to music my mum already had lots of albums and singles so that was cool.

Hey !!! I'm 45 and still kickin' it out !!! Check out the profile and the cool pic for cookielady. Mary is 79 this year, and rocked out at the Celebration. She has an awesome collection of over 1000 different Prince discs from different counties, all in a purple room filled with memorabilia.

A great friend, Mary is a joy to know !!!

I'm 26, or is it 27 now? and I don't feel old at all. Just read the MTV review of the CONcert in NYC, tho, and they were referring to songs like Joy in Repetition as "oldies".

That kinda gave me some perspective, cus - you know... wasn't that just recently? Grafitti Bridge... The original Time back together again... Dr Fink out of the group (btw wtf was the geezer behind the keys in the Grafitti Bridge movie??), the frase "New Power Generation" finally turned into a song (that's a good one, btw, albeit with a bit of a dated sound), Prince appearing for real with facial hair after that brief part in Time Waits For No-one...

Are those days really that "old"?

Anyway, I dug Prince since a friend of mine bought Parade in '87. Later that year we both purchased Sign "O" The Times and the bomb hit after the first four bars and the imortal "Oh yeah!". We got our hands on 1999, Prince, Purple Rain and Lovesexy and in the autumn of 1989, Prince guested Oslo and from the moment he stepped on stage from behind of Eric, with the moves and the attitude just like the sound from his albums, I immediately felt the All My Dreamsy voice from the ending of Positivity, down my neck, through the pelvis and into the concrete ground: N e w P o w e r G e n e r a t i o n h a s j u s t t a k e n c o n t r o l -

aahhh...
