Best use of sound effects

Ofcourse Prince is synonymous for using sound effecs in his music. Are there any songs that you feel they enhanced a great deal?

I love the street noise in both "Shy" and "Lady Cab Driver". I also dig the effects in "Dionne" for some reason.

What about you?

Tokyo/Osaka

the rain and the jungle/bird sounds. plus all that
weird stuff that someone (i think renato) manages
to float around the songs ending/beginnings.

some truly inspired stuff there.

usually i don't mind his soundfx, but it is kinda
lame when you hear that "We March" scream in some
stupid 90's cop show or tv film.

i used to be so dumb to think that he would take
the time to record his own fx but now i know that
he just takes them from pre recorded records of
soundfx

same thing with the "elevator door" soundfx on the Gold Experience.
you hear those in so many things now, on the radio and on tv. and I
used to think it was something prince had recorded himself, perhaps
in Paisley Park or somewhere

doh!

Yeah, I hear that scream from "We March" a lot. I was wondering what was going on. Even he's used it more than once, right?

yeah, he's used several soundfx more than once. a while there
he had a thing for that "photocamera/bite from an apple" kinda
sound. it's in several of his songs. i first noticed it when
it popped up in "The Greatest Romance" as well.

i think it's somewhere on "The Chocolate Invasion" too and it
has been used before Rave.

What about that camera shutter sound on 319? Because he's photographing a model. Genius.

Joking aside, I think the sound effects help to tell the story in Wasted Kisses, with the, I assume, ambulance coming and the medic failing to save the woman as the heart monitor tone stops. Well, I think that's the story.

I have 2 say the cereal in "Joint 2 Joint". Everything from opening the box 2 pouring it in the bowl. Very realistic and clear. Also, the taxi scene at the end is pretty cool.

I personally love, the backwards cymbal that is arranged to perfection in Erotic City. Which makes it hard to know if he is actually saying F*@k. ( Which we know he is .. lol )

And the Flanger effect ( same in Sex Shooter) at the intro to She's Always in MY Hair

The Train effect (bell) that is in When 2 are in Love that comes right after he says The Speed of their hips can be faster than a runaway train...

OH there's a million more.. don't get me started
