Ok, this is probably for the old Prince fans or the ones that has been down with the Purple One from almost the beginning or the beginning. I thought about this thread due to the fact that there have been threads asking people have they ever met LIL MAN. Well back in 82 and 83 when Prince was touring in support of 1999(before he became real large)every city he went to on his tour, he was also making in-store appearances to met fans and to sign autographs for them. When he came here to Atlanta (in late 1982) he came to Greenbriar Mall(him and Vanity 6).

I wanted to go but I had another prior engagement(and my parents UNFORTUNATELY made sure I stuck with that engagement). But I heard it was a spectacle. Man, I wanted to go so bad. Forget Prince...I WANTED TO SEE VANITY LIVE AND IN THE FLESH. But it would have been cool, if I would have met LIL MAN as well. I heard that fans really went wild for Prince. And from what I heard, I think he had to leave the mall early. I also read that in other cities he went to for these meet and greet autograph signing that alot of time decoy limos were used to throw fans off while the limo carrying the Purple One would make it's getaway.

Is there anyone in Orgville who remember these in-store promotional tours that Prince did back in 82 for the 1999 album? Or did you know of the event and wanted to go but couldn't. Looking back in retrospect, that would have been a tremendous opportunity to meet him and get his autograph.
