well i think that maybe he laid off the relaxer for a while right before musicology when he was sporting the small fro. even at the beginning of the musicology promotion it looked like his hair was bigger.

It looked pressed to me... especially where his sideburns are gel'd down. Once he started sweating, the sideburns started lifting and curling. I guess you haven't seen those pics of P where his hair looked like it had started reverting to a 'fro. Maybe it was close to his touch up time. You know you gotta wait at least 6 weeks between relaxing. " a newborn child knows nothing of destruction, nothing of love & hate"

Maybe he should use this: I use it on my natural, unrelaxed hair, which is slicked back in a ponytail. Works like a charm. My hair doesn't move. [Edited 4/5/06 15:30pm] [Edited 4/5/06 15:51pm]

We really do need that troll alert emoticon.
Anyhoo, as someone who gets their hair pressed regularly I can factually say that once your hair gets trained it does not necessarily revert back to extremely curly when it gets wet. You can use gel on pressed hair to make it lay down. And no I don't have what folks would call "good" hair either. So let's not go there. As for P, I think he's been getting it pressed in recent years. Could be wrong but who cares ... really. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

PurpleCharm said: Thang said: what's the difference between what u pointed out..out of sincere interest? Relaxing is a permanent chemical hair straighening process that changes the basic structure of curly/kinky hair to a straight form. Thanks for that.. learned and truly did not know. Pressing curly/kinky hair is achieved by combing the hair with a heated comb. The straightening is only temporary. Once water hits the hair or the hair is exposed to humidity, it reverts back to its naturally curly/kinky state. The reason why I say that he presses his hair is due to many performance pictures of P where it looks like his hair had started to revert due to sweating.

PurpleCharm said: SexyBeautifulOne said: Yeah there's a BIG difference, too bad you don't seem to know what it is. You think Prince's hair looks pressed? For someone who has been relaxing their own hair for as long as Prince has been been on the music scene, I can guarantee you, his hair is not pressed. Back during the late 70's maybe but after 1980...hell to the naw! Reading and comprehending is fundamental sweetie. I never said that I knew for a fact that his hair was pressed. I pressed my daughter's unrelaxed hair this morning, so trust, I know the difference. [Edited 4/5/06 8:00am] Madame C. J. Walker, please forgive 'em because they know not what they speak. Sweetie, I have a license in cosmetology. I'm not a kitchen 'tician, so you trust. Prince's hair is relaxed not pressed.
