Fury Playing on the Radio - WXRT - Chicago

They are playing it a LOT from what I hear. Their format is Rock & ROll...they go for the edgier college type of stuff...and are very well respected as a really good radio station.

So there IS a market on the radio for the song. I'm willing to bet they are playing it because they like it...not because they are being paid to do so.

yeah well i hope he proves us all wrong and the song becomes a big hit
god knows the man deserves a break on radio with their shitty blacklist
propaganda for the past decade.

if anything, they need to just respect his craft and play his songs a
few times a day. if they can play maroon 5 up to 36 times daily until
my ears bleed and i'm about to run outside and kill total strangers,
i think they should be able to give a good song like Fury some spins
and true love lives on lollipops and crisps

I wake up to a R&B radio station. At least once a week they play him. But I'd wish they would play something other than

I wanna B your Lover
When Doves Cry
Little Red Corvette
Kiss
Raspberry Beret
Erotic City

I know he has more hits than that! It's an R&B station fer chrissy sakes! They could easily play...

Uptown
When U were mine
I feel for you
Pop Life
Take Me with U

So many others...damn even Call my Name would be nice.

You know it might be that one...my friend said it had a lot of horns in it. I checked online and I saw Fury and naturally assumed it was that one. How lovely to play a song that is not even considered for release.

Yeah someone at my job said the same thing, "a lot of horns".
I wouldn't have guessed they were playing Get on the Boat cause
who plays Prince, new Prince for that matter much these days in Chicago.
Pleasantly surprised I am.

Yea "get on the boat" is great, the one i play before anything else of his right now, specially in the morning real loud.
"Fury" and "Te amo corazon" are the absolute best tracks on there.
The PR people should stay far away from the embarrassing and patronizing teeny-bopper tunes like "Love" "lolita" and 'black sweat"
He'll never get that demographic anyway, long time fans know he's way better than that, we stayed away from that crap he was peddling in the 90's, he should take a hint, we dont want our music dumbed down

Black Sweat is GREAT. A really strong song. I don't consider it teeny bopper...nor do I do Love.

Lolita is the only one that so smacks of "single" but in the bad way like Cream or U got the look.

XRT has been a long supporter of Prince...way back since Dirty Mind. They play the more rock-orientated songs from just about every album the guys done...I have heard Holy River, In This Bed I Scream, Chaos & Disorder, I Love U But I Don't Trust U, Baby Knows, Cinnamon Girl and Musicology over the years...I swear its THE only station in Chicago that will play his new stuff these days.

That sounds very cool. Too bad I live in Northern Virginia.
