Yes, I have that CD. That is a song that NO ONE should attempt to cover. Some songs by certain artists - and not just Prince CAN NOT be redone.
And No, I wasn't crazy about her rendition.

I heard it when my sister was playin' once. Sisqo is in to. I didn't have to much to say about it.

It's funny but I purchased the cd just for this one song. I ripped the song and sold the cd. I never even listened to the the other tracks. I don't care for her since her 1st cd.

Dont get me wrong - I think shes a beautiful woman but she is so far up her own backside its sickening

If I'd never heard that song before, I think it would be an OK version. BUT, since Prince wrote and released it 15 years before, and it's a definitive version, her version is unnecessary. Still, it's nice from her to do such a homage, because that's what I consider it is.

I used to hate on all things Mariah too. I was like, Yeah, the hero lies in you, whatever babe. I got your hero right here.

Then she made that Glitter bomb, had a messy divorce, had a very public meltdown and fell apart at the seams. And I felt sorry for her.

And then she came back! She was like, fuck it, I made a big ass fool of myself, but I'm gonna do what I love to do: Oversing the hell out of bland love songs.

And now I respect her.

Yes, heard this verion, and have to agree, it's utter shite.

When you can fuck up a classic that tells you a lot about the artist.

I just googled Mariah Carey+the beautiful ones and a number of pages with the lyrics came up. Nowhere did it say that it's a cover. Like Mariah wrote the song.lol. I haven't heard her version of it. Didn't even know she'd made one. Though I've many times thought about buying Butterfly. Think I'll go and listen to the sample at amazon....
