Did any of you go to the New Power Soul festival tour? What kind of setlists did he perform?
Were any of the shows professionally filmed?

I went to the European leg of that tour, mainly in Germany and the Netherlands.
The setlist was mostly something like this ( sorry , I´m too busy to post an accurate tracklist, so I´ll just name a few random songs off the top of my head): Push it up Jam of the year Talkin loud and saying nothing Let´s work Delirious Purple Rain Little Red Corvette I would die 4 U Get your Groove on I could never take the place of your man The Christ One of Us Love Thy will be done Courtin time Come on If I was your girlfriend Piano medley: Diamonds and Pearls Most Beautiful Girl In the world Kamasutra bits and pieces Ballad of Dorothy Parker Insatiable How come U don´t call me anymore? Darling Nikki (short) Nothing compares 2 U ( Mind you, this is NOT an accurate tracklist, just a bunch of songs he played in Frankfurt and Rotterdam, but pretty much in this order...the medley was of course shorter, so think of only half the songs...either in Frankfurt or Rotterdam) Take me with U Raspberry Beret Baby I´m a Star 1999 And of course the usual Graham Central Station/Sly Stone songs with Larry. Many criticize this era, I enjoyed it nevertheless...he sometimes had problems with his aching tooth, had a dentist backstage, plus the Mayte/ dead baby tragedy still being quite fresh, add to that the confusion of that time in his life...I respect that, he still performed some GREAT shows despite of all this, and many forget about that...many other musicians wouldn´t be able to deliver such great liveshows even in their prime...Prince still managed to deliver some great shows during this tour. His perseverance and discipline and work ethic shined through all the surrounding inner and outer drama that was happening back then, and I enjoyed the tour, even though the one in Cologne was a bit short and he often made minor mistakes, like forgetting lyrics etc. But hey, at least he went on tour and it was still great to witness it. The American leg wasn´t really that different..it contained a couple more songs that were more popular in the US back in the day, like Do Me Baby...other than that, it was pretty much the same setlist. " I´d rather be a stank ass hoe because I´m not stupid. Oh my goodness! I got more drugs! I´m always funny dude...I´m hilarious! Are we gonna smoke?"
