Does Prince sing this song alone or is someone else singing with him?

I haven't got the cd yet but so far I like

Black Sweat
The Word
Love
Incense and Candles

biggrin lol

There's clearly a chick in the background... every time she chimes in it reminds me of Carmen's contribution on The Continental/Tell Me How You Want To Be Done... or the chick on Love 2 the 9's...

Does it say f/Tamar on the cd or no?

Haven't gotten the cd as of yet, so I can't check for myself.

When you open the cd, a bunch of leaflets fall out on you about Tamar BLB CD May2, for a second I thought I was reading a magizene.
News: Prince pulls his head out his ass in the last moment.
Bad News: Prince wasted too much quality time doing so.
You have those internalized issues because you want to, you like to, stop.

does he use some kind of voice synth like Roger Troutman used?, this song sounds like something that could be on the radio now and a lot of people would dig it

Yeah this song is cool. Get this. The best part is Prince's rapping! I know, I know...I would've never believed it either. But it's quite good. I love that snare drum in the background too. I wish it were a longer part of the song..

It's called a Vocoder..ala "Mean Mr. Mustard" and Cher's "Believe"

Some people think it's cheesy, but I think it sounds cool if not overdone.

Once people get over the initial disappointment that it's not a typical Prince/Minneapolis-sound/jam, then they can really enjoy it. It took me a brief while to really get into the song. But if people give it a chance, they'll like it..

I think the song is hot. One of the few times Prince's rapping was really good.
I'm not a fan of "old Prince". I'm not a fan of "new Prince". I'm just a fan of Prince. Simple as that

Actually, it's not called a vocoder. It's an autotune device made by Antares. It's normally used to correct pitches in vocals to mask bad singing. When you go a bit zany with the thing however, you get this 'quantizing' effect, and your voice starts to sound a bit robotic.

It's also available as a software plugin.
