Rainbow children's segues were annoying to me on an aesthetic level, not on a philosophical one.

Oh, so you're ok with the whole "woman subordinate to the man" philosophy expressed on the record (for one example)?

Good to know, I guess...

eek

Look, before you go playing the chauvinist card on me, let me explain something to you about the genders. Women are usually in control. More often than not adult women are the ones coaching and nurturing and guiding along adult men, not the other way around.

Most women have given up on the idea of a knight in shining armor who will sweep them off their feet, not because they don’t want it, but because they’ve lost hope that there are such men.

I will contend that women WANT to be submissive to their man, provided he is good, strong, has principles and purpose in life. Problem is, they have to go build this type of man from scratch, since they don’t make them like that anymore

That was one of the more questionable lyrics, one of many, maybe not even the worst - But it still didn't detract from the enjoyment of the album for me.

TRC sounded like nothing before, and nothing after - When was the last time one said that about a Prince record?

- Agreed. Prince wasn´t joking when he said it was a controversial album. Not for the world, but for fans at least it was. I don´t agree with several lyrics and I think it´s offensive to some people, but musically it´s brilliant. It´s certainly not a ´safe´ album like Musicology.

One of the nicest things about 3121 is that Prince expressed his spiritual side through some lyrics, but it didnt seem to have offended most fans. That´s cool smile
